A difference in the Omega Discussion area...
Maybe I'm alone here, but has anyone else noticed a bit of a shift inthe Rolex discussion forum? It used to be a very friendly, classy place...Lately there seems to be a lot of angry, inflammatory bickering posts and responses...seems like the mods are working overtime..I'm finding myself over here on the Omega sub forum more often...I'm sure that I am probably reading too much into it, and probably getting a selection Bias based on the threads I choose to read, but I feel that over here (the Omega group), the focus is still on the mutual love and appreciation for the timepieces...It just seems friendlier here - Anyone else notice the same??(Bonus Poll:how many posts until someone tells me to go *&^% myself?)
Chrono question
Some will probably think this is a stupid question and that the answer is obvious, but I am absolutely not an expert in watches, just a guy who likes watches and learns new things all the time. So here's the question, why a chrono like the 5370 which is platinum and enamel dial costs only, if I can say so, 250K when a 5950 which is in steel and IMO not as good looking, but others might disagree just personal taste, costs 400K? Is it because one has 3 pushers and the most expensive only 2? Is that an extra complication? Also I am surprised that a 2 pusher split second chrono with no other complication is considered a grand complication, while a 3 pusher split chrono is considered complication, not grand, is that usual or just with Patek? Is one so much harder to make than the other?I must say the question has been turning in my head since there has been a lot of talk about the 5370, and can't find a logical explanation to justify the 150K difference. In no way would I buy, even if I co
What side?
It may have been asked before but it's a fairly poignant one for me so I'll ask anyway. What side do you wear your watch on? And is it the same side or opposite to your dominant hand?I went for years wearing a watch on my left and being right handed. However in 2010 I had a pretty nasty motorbike accident which resulted in a smashed left wrist (amongst a lot of other things) and now even though fully recovered, a watch on my left wrist feels horrible due to nerve damage, so I wear on my right. Everyone asks if I'm left handed, and surprises them when I say no...I heard traditionally you are supposed to wear a watch on whatever side you write with, so if you need to write the time/date you can easily check first, I don't know how correct this is!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
