visited NY boutique today
have been eyeing the 15450 in YG for some time now.thought it'd be too small at 37mm, relative to the jumbo.but dammit if it doesn't wear oh so nicely.have a day-date president in YG (36mm), and the 15450 feels so much more substantial on wrist. having the DD has gotten me accustomed to enjoying sub-39mm sizes.but the heft and case lugs make the 15450 wear larger than 37.unsure if having 2 YG full bracelet watches is just too much.the DD is a perennial classic, understated and gentlemanly.whilst the 15450 is pure stunning... but the size allows it to be such without having to scream outloud for attention... which, IMO, might be the case if 40mm (given my wrist isn't particularly large at 7).as nice as the OR with grey dial is, the YG with blue is the clear winner for me.

3rd year warranty sticker abolished?
Apparently it is online registration only now in Hong Kong, no waterproofing check required before the end of 2nd year, and third year warranty sticker no longer exists. Is this the same in other countries?

Put Deposit down on 1st Patek
Today I've put a deposit down for my first Patek! I'm really exited and looking forward to it. It will be either 5711 or 5712. As many of us, I've been going back and forth between the two depending on the dayI've worked a deal out with AD where I would be able to pick between 5711 or 5712 when the pieces come in. Number of you have responded to my private messages and previous posts in regards to two models, WHICH I REALLY APPRICIATE!!I know that I will have to get the one that SINGS to me, but If any of you guys want to add thoughts and opinions on either 5711 or 5712 I would really appreciate your personal feedback.Thanks and looking forward to INCOMING post,

First, I'd just like to say this: The new TRF Patek forum has the same impact as the Rolex discussion forums. Serious case of what I call Watch Acquisition Syndrome (WAS). We all need help and this is the most dysfunctional group therapy session ever. Anyway, I want to get some input on my next PP purchase.I'm looking at the following:* 5140P or J: I fear it is too close in appearance to my 5146P, which I absolutely love and am unlikely to get rid of (among the reasons is the beautiful dial finish/color, unique to that model). But I love the watch for its functionality.* 5960P (gray dial): A modern PP icon. Beautiful. Some people say, Well the chronograph function is useless to most. Get a Patek 5205. No. I don't care. Observations from a (relatively) new member
I have liked watches since I was in junior high and got a nice quartz Seiko from my father for Christmas in about 1983. I had gotten several quartz Hamilton watches as gifts from my wife over the years until I graduated from college and my mother gave me the gift of:I liked it because it was in the James Bond movie and I wore this quartz watch as my daily for many years.
