Tried on some Royal Oaks
So I visited the AD and got to try on some ROs. First up was the 15450- the salesman thought I was crazy trying it on but when I put it on, he was surprised it fit. And it didn't need half of the links removed to make it fit. To me it's on the small side compared to my 39mm Explorer but I think it might work out. I think the combo of the sharp edges of the watch plus a bigger diameter makes it too in your face and chunky. Everything about it is gorgeous. I actually started thinking about how I was going to buy it. Second was the 15450 in rose gold with the black face and crocodile strap. OMFG. This watch is a stunner. It's amazing how the change in the bracelet and case material transforms the feel of the watch. The steel model looks modern and very sleek. This version is pure class. It has a totally different feel. The rose gold gives a warmth to the design that the steel version lacks. I wouldn't say better, but different. Finally I tried in the 41mm 15400 with a black dial. It'
Get rid of SMPc for a Speedy?
So I'm in a conundrum and am looking to some of the thoughts and opinions here.My current lineup is:Omega SMPc (blue dial)Archimede SportTaucher AChristopher Ward C5 MalvernSeiko Orange MonsterSeiko Padi TurtleThe archimede isn't going anywhere for sentimental reasons and the CW serves as my dress watch when I need one. I like the Seikos for beaters, pool, etc.I plan on getting a (probably) Yachtmaster in about 3 years to commemorate my 40th birthday (though things could obviously change between now and then) but I also plan on picking up the Speedy with Hesalite in the next 3-6 months. So, my conundrum is whether to sell the SMPc. I like the watch but I'm not in love with it. I have other divers I could use to fill that roll, and one day I may add a Sub. Selling it isn't necessary to fund the speedy, but it could obviously defray the costs a bit.I know if I regret it I could always rebuy it (even though I bought it from a trusted seller and it's still in excellent condition with mostly
Need some quick help Thanks.
So I'm about to buy a speedy 3570.50 used from a trusted reputable seller on the forum here. So here's the deal Omega 3570.50 no box no papers. Overall watch is in good condition comes with the newer type bracelet with the screws instead of pins for links. I wire $2,650. I am okay with paying this. I just don't know if I am overpaying. eBay can't find one close for this price. So advice would be greatly appreciated as I am going to bank tomorrow afternoon. If I don't here from anyone I am going to assume no news is good news. All the best,Glenn
Small wrist with BIG Planet Ocean
I have a 6.5 inch wrist and am in two minds as to getting the 45.5mm Seamaster Planet Ocean (PO) or the smaller 42mm PO.Does anyone have any comments to share about getting the larger PO for a smaller wrist? Is it uncomfortable to wear in the long run? (the 5 min at the AD doesn't really help a lot).Alternatively, pics of wrist shots with smaller wrists would be appreciated.Thanks...
