Omega DeVille as a dress watch choice?
What do you guys think of the current model DeVille as a dress watch choice, #4631.31.31? It has the Co-axial movement of course, but doesn't seem to get much discussion on any of the forums. So let me ask: do you think it's a good choice, or would you rather have a two-tone Rolex Datejust, or perhaps the Zenith Class Elite, maybe the new Girard Perregaux Vintage 1966, or perhaps one of the Blancpain Villeret dress line which has a similar price point to the Omega. Which way would you go? Do you think the DeVille is just as good as some of the others I mentioned? Interested in your thoughts, thank you.
Self-gift my new 5711 blue
After 10hr flight to Ireland for family holiday my first port of call was collecting my new Nautilus - so pleased with it! Also uploaded pic of my birthday cake (glad watch wasn't inside!)
Rolex YM40 116622 owners - thoughts?
Hey TRFers,I'm a little torn between the blue dial and rhodium dial for the YM40 116622. I already have the rhodium dial for an OP39 so part of me thinks having the blue dial would be a good choice. The rhodium dial, however, looks great too - especially with that cyan highlights! It's an obvious like as I have something similar already. When side by side, it looks like the sportier bigger brother to the OP which I quite like.I have a few questions that may help me settle, especially from those who have owned one or both for a while:1) Does the dial colour change after time for either? I have seen some pics where the blue dial looks dark and has lost it's luster - can't tell if that's an age thing or a lighting/photo thing? Suppose the latter but want to confirm.2) Does anyone know the history of the dials? Some interesting facts and the date of introduction? For example, i know the rhodium dial is found on the YM37 and the YM40 but is newer than the blue dial (introduced 2012??).3) Any
Rolex damaged badly in accident!
NOT MINE.... It is of one of the good youtuber who does watch reviews. He reviewed the Rolex loaned from a friend and he was ready to buy it for $5K. He was going to meet him with the watch and kept on the rooftop and put his daughter in car seat etc and forgot about the watch until he was half way. He came back to see his Rolex box shattered at the corner of the road with multiple cars crashing it badly. He's paying the guy $5K anyways. My question is.. can this Rolex be ever restored? Is it worth it? I think the restoration will exceed $5K. What do you think? Have you seen such a bad state of a Rolex?Only this much is left of the watch. What can be done? Thanks.
Batman available at mi AD
I have no connection to this AD, I just stopped in got to talking, and apparently had good timing. AD claims it is not spoken for, and I could have walked out with it had I been prepared. So it’s apparently not spoken for. Anyone wanting details can PM me, I don’t want to break any rules, just hopefully help a forum member.
