Watches NEWS
A smaller Omega
I haven't posted much on this forum before but started reading when I was looking for a 2255.80.Here are a couple of pics from this afternoon. My wife's watch is the smaller one...
Modest restoration of an old time favorite, The Seamaster
With Ruben's permission of course I'm posting these pics for your viewing pleasure. Who doesn't like a restoration? Well this is the Story. Ruben was looking for someone to restore his friends watch, and I contacted him to let him know that my partners and I are into restoring Omega cases. He sent me the watch and the rest follows as pics. Thanks Ruben! Omegas are fun and challenging to restore but when you do it right, the results are worth the hurdles. Maybe Ruben has a before pic. I only have a few disassembled before pics. This watch was also serviced and fitted with a new original crystal.
Will she notice???
Alright guys, let's take some bets. Trading up from my PAM 48 to the 233. Does my wife notice that I'm wearing a new watch [Seriously, another new watch?! What was wrong with the old one?!] or does it fly safely under the radar as the same old Panerai? Is the 233 awesome enough that I don't care if I get busted?
'J' stamped end pieces
I have a couple of bi metal end pieces that have the letter J stamped at the opposite end to the number . Anyone know what this letter stamping signifies ?Thanks
Rolex Explorer Spring Bars?
I'm now the lucky owner of a new Explorer. I'd like to have the option to swap the bracelet for a rubber strap and NATO occasionally, but I'm confused about the correct spring bars to use.For the rubber strap, 'normal' spring bars should be fine, but apart from an AD, where else can I get them from and what exactly should I be looking for (e.g. part number)? Am I right in thinking that a spring bar for say, a Sub, won't necessarily fit my Explorer? For the NATO I want to use shoulderless spring bars. Again, where and what should I be looking for? I know I'll have to snip out shoulderless spring bars when I want to swap back to the bracelet.
