Royal oak chromo vs non chrono
I have had my eye on a Steel Royal Oak Chrono for some time now after I'd tried on the 41mm 15400 and LOVED the way the light caught the silver dialI expected the Royal oak chromo to have the same dial that changes shades when the light catches it but was disappointed to find it didn't, and looked quite flat in comparison - has anyone else found this?(the self winding looks tiny compared to the ROC here because of the angle and how much higher the chromo sits)
Purchase new 5726 or previously enjoyed?
I have an opportunity to pick up a 5726 Steel bracelet from an AD or used from a reputable dealer. The difference in buying new is about 6k. What would you do in this case? Buy new sealed or buy used?
Pining for a 5726
Hi,Been lurking a bit. I recently bought a Rolex Daytona to accompany my IWC Pilot, yet apparently that last purchase did not satisfy my craving. So the last few weeks I've been looking at Pateks, and I seem to have honed in on the 5726/1A (with the steel bracelet). In either black or white dial, I'll have to decide that in person. Leaning towards the white, it looks positively awesome (plus both my IWC and Daytona are black dial). I'm a wearer, I don't buy the watches to keep in a safe.I've got a bit of travel coming up, which is usually when I get around to looking at the watches in person and buying them. With that said, I'm wondering what availability of the above watch is like. Can I expect to walk into an AD in a larger city and pick one up? Is there usually a wait for these models, or just lack of availability? While the 5726 is a favorite right now, I would not rule out a 5712 or 5711 either.I realize that this will vary depending on city and AD, but I'll take any help I can get
New Arrival (LHD Diver Content)
I was unsure of the size of this one at first, 43mm and a hair tall. I went into a local AD as I had been eying up this one and the chrono black bay. The chrono I passed on as it was a bit too blingy for my tastes (I could never get on with the black bay's extra shiny hands and lume plots, they lack the 'depth' of the older rolex white gold surrounds). Also the snowflake hands over subdials seemed like a careless oversight, from a functional point of view. I opted for the LHD. I'm not of the camp that calls it a faux patina watch as I think that was not the point, rather the warmer looking lume plots make the watch a little less 'sharp' or edgy and fit nicely with the red pelagos text and beige date wheel. All in all a very well designed and executed watch with some unusual and interesting appointments. It's also very comfortable to wear. Keeper? Time will tell...
Which Panda dial
The CK2998 has been sold and I'm missing a panda dial. The latest Autavia is a tad too big and I'm done with Rolex. The AP ROC looks fantastic but out my league so I'm looking for suggestions.Any thoughts
