Ladoire Roller Guardian Time – The UFO of Watchmaking?
Lionel Ladoire launched his eponymous company in 2007 and his first timepiece is an audacious effort. He refers to it as the UFO of watchmaking, and the company’s press materials acknowledge that this piece leaves no one indifferent. It may not come as a surprise that Ladoire is a surfer and a rock drummer as well as a talented young watchmaker. If you saw him on the street, you would not think “I bet he’s a horologist.” Others claim to be nonconformists; Ladoire walks the walk. Ladoire’s creation is called the Roller Guardian Time, or RGT, and at 56 x 45 x 16.3mm, this uniquely-shaped timepiece makes a striking statement on the wrist. The shape has been likened to that of a pebble, and the analogy is apt. The asymmetric shape is soft, organic, and surprisingly balanced. lets talk Jules Audemars
Does anyone on this subforum have anything from the Jules Audemars line? Particularly the Reserve De Marche. I know there's infinite RO and ROO love here but in my very personal opinion the Jules part of APs lineup is where the brand shines. State of Panerai?
Been off the Panerai forum for a while. Sold my one Pam last year...miss it a bit. I especially get a little whistful when I see my JV and Brown gator straps sitting idly in my watch box.I see folks wearing Pams here and there, but what's the poop? Is the brand holding its own or slowing down?
TT Louder than YG??
I popped into an AD today and checked out their pre-owned selection. I have a 16613 blue dial but always had dreams of selling it to help fund a 16618 one day. The AD had a 16618 with serti dial and blue bezel and I was excited to try it on expecting that you would notice it on my wrist from a mile away (I had never tried on YG before today). I was underwhelmed and felt like my TT popped more than the YG.Anyone else with similar opinions? Did I just build up the YG in my head to be more than what it is?
