Jaquet Droz Quantieme Perpetuel Calendar Watch Available On James List
Discussing Jaquet Droz watches in the US is almost futile. It isn't that you can't find this small Swatch Group brand in the US, but rather that it is extremely rare. I saw my first one in Europe personally. I've always liked this brand but haven't known what to make of it. A lot of their designs are good, but currently they lack direction and leadership as far as I can tell. The last time the brand was really on my radar in any serious way was when Manuel Emch (current CEO of Romain Jerome) was the head honcho over there. This Jaquet Droz watch from a few years ago is a great example of what the brand is capable of in terms of design. This specific model is itself extremely rare said to have been made as a limited edition of just 8 pieces. 8 being an important number and symbol for the brand as it is a good luck number in Asia (where a lot of Jaquet Droz pieces are apparently sold). This model is the Quantieme Perpetuel Calendar watch in 18k rose gold. There was another version that wa
Enjoy It!
I would first like to thank all of the AP enablers (Thomas, Dalip, Mike, Adam, Dan and the list goes on) for helping me decide to part with my funds for my first AP (all of your pics were killing me). Of course as always, I went to my local AD' (DavidSW) to find my new AP. Having owned Rolex for 20 years (lost count of how many have flipped, kept...well you know), last few years I really embraced Panerai (which I love), but something was always missing. I wanted to add something new to the collection, but wasn't sure just what. As usual, headed to TRF and let the madness begin on convincing myself on what I wanted . AP has been on my mind for quite a while and seems to be the next logical step for me. I have always been a believer in you get what you pay for. Thought I would start out with something simple', and see where the AP bug takes me . Really amazed by the quality, history and finish of AP. Ladies and gentlemen, now without further delay, I present my AP ROO Diver--(a
Everything just looks good...
on the RO!Even the lume is crisp and sharp! (unlike my photos unfortunately)
Current retail 5711 prices?
What is the retail price for the 5711 at your AD?I know they're usually not available, but i'm curious because I keep seeing pre owned ones being sold at what I believe is much higher than retail, or being sold at retail price for a pre owned one of 3+ years.Curious as to what the current retail price is.Do you think the price increase will effect Patek's pre owned market as well - not speaking strictly about the 5711 but in general..Just curious on this. Thanks guys!
Cal 240 this or that - 5110 or 3940?
Hi all,Was already considering a Patek 3940 vs an ALS Sax Annual Calendar.. Now am thinking of a Worldtime 5110 as well (prefer the older 36mm iteration)Which would you prefer between the 3940 and the 5110? Both use the 240 micro-rotor calibre, and this is particularly pertinent as I prefer not to have the same base movement in two diffferent pieces in my collecvtion. Would probably be considering the White Gold version in both pieces.
