Bell & Ross BR 01 Aviation Instrument Watches For 2013
For 2013 Bell & Ross will once again offer up a few new "Aviation Instrument" themed collection of watches based on the BR 01 (BR01) case. I believe this is the third or fourth year of doing so and it began with pieces like the BR 01 Compass and then the?BR 01 Radar watch. The concept of the piece is to be even more directly "instrument" inspired even though the Bell & Ross BR 01 is called the "Instrument." Having said that, the standard BR 01 watches are straightforward standard watch dials while the Aviation Instrument collection are a bit more "interpretive."You sort of either love or hate these watches. Some people say that Bell & Ross is messing with their tried and true formula of unambiguous military watch designs, and still others love the playfulness and designs of these pieces which are directly inspired by specific cockpit instruments. Last year for 2012 we covered the three new Bell & Ross BR 01 Instrument watches here with the Turn Coordinator, Altimeter, a
Omega Service and certificate
I am about to service my omega 3510.50. Omega quoted me $900 for overhaul and a new hesalite and bezel. The watch buyers group quoted me $400-$800 with out a new bezel. Omega said for an additional $150 they would give me a certificate stating where and when the watch was made. And it would be signed by the omega president. Considering I paid 1k for the watch is this certificate necessary? It would probably help with resale down the line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Price for Patek Tang and Deployment clasp
Hi,As some of you may know I recently acquired a Patek Croc for my 5960/1a. I am really feeling this watch on the grey croc I purchased from European Watch Co in Boston. They did not have a Patek clasp or tang in stock so they gave me a generic tang. I am interested in purchasing a Patek deployment clasp. I went by my local AD and was quoted over $4,000 for one. It seems expensive to me. I was ready for somewhere in the $1500 range. I declined to purchase it and asked them to email me the price of the tang so I could decide which way I want to go. They never emailed me. Anyone familiar with pricing on the deployments (would rather have an oem deployment if possible but not at $4000) or tangs. And if different than what I was quoted where to get? Pic of 5960/1a on strap for those who haven't seen.
Sub Timekeeping Accuracy
In November my wife bought me a 116618LB (YG w/ Blue dial). For the last 4-5 weeks I have not removed my Sub. I sleep, shower, everything wearing the watch.I checked the time today. Over that 4-5 week period the watch has picked up 5 seconds.I am super impressed.
41mm Datejust Jubilee Bracelet Crown Clasp
Hey everyone,I am new to watch collecting, but have a background in some other collectibles that fit well with watches, mostly coins and other antiques, some bourbon, and I like to collect houses'. I have also decided that I am ready to purchase my first Rolex in 2018. This is something I have wanted all of my life, and I am having some trouble figuring out a few things moving forward. I know for example that I want a Two-Tone Yellow Gold 41mm Datejust Black Diamond Dial Fluted Bezel on a Jubilee Bracelet with a Crown ClaspMy problem seems to be finding this exact setup with the crown stealth Clasp. I decidedly do NOT want or like the look of the oyster Clasp on this configuration, but I don't see the option available anywhere. What are my options for something like this? Is it a call to Rolex for a custom job? Are they already out in the wild? Is it coming soon'? Pardon my ignorance, but I am unable to locate this answer and feel as if I may be looking for something that does not ex
