Thomas Prescher Nemo Captain Triple Axis Tourbillon Watch
Thomas Prescher?strikes you as the type of man that knowingly knows something you don't. What this special knowledge entails doesn't seem to matter, but the German-born watchmaker regularly smiles reassuringly with a gleam in his eye that seems to tell you he's figured something out about life that you haven't. It could all just be something about his confident personality. He isn't terribly forward with it, but he isn't shy about reminding you that he, and only he possess certain techniques that make his little machines possible to produce. Once again he releases a watch with his special form of?triple axis tourbillon.Prescher is a compact man who currently lives in Switzerland producing a handful of rather intensely horological items each year. He has a bit of a reputation for being a rogue agent. Thomas does things his own way having a marked anti-establishment streak which seems typical with many independent watchmakers. Perhaps with good cause. For the most part Thomas is an autod
Halios Delfin PVD Review
Halios watches probably needs little introduction on worn&wound. Over the last few years, the Vancouver based dive watch brand has earned a reputation for making great, unique watches. We previously reviewed two versions of their Tropik watches, one in bronze and the other in steel, both of which earned high regards from us. Stylish, restrained, well built, well priced they were hard not to like.Last October, Jason, the founder of Halios, brought his wares down from Canada to show at our Wind-Up: NYC event. He had on display samples of all of his watches, from the coveted 1000M Puck to his newest at the time and the topic of this review, the Delfin. It was love at first sight. I'm not sure how many times I went over to his booth and quietly picked it up to ogle and try on, but hopefully I didn't annoy him too much. Needless to day, I knew I had to review it.Fast forward a few months and here we are with the Delfin PVD, the follow up to the initial stainless model. Sporting a sophi
New rubber strap for my Speedie!
Hi all,Just got a new rubber strap with matching orange stitching for my HB-SIA Solar Impulse Speedmaster, and I think it looks great! The orange just makes the accents on the watch pop. This is one heck of a versatile watch, and with this strap it is even lighter. You can't even notice it is on your wrist.
Hypothetically..
That's it, you're done. You've gotta sell off the collection and consolidate down to one watch. Any watch will do, doesn't have to be Rolex; but this is it, you have to wear this watch for the rest of your life. What do you fellow watch fanatics land on?I land on my GMT. I love the multi time zone function, the depth rating, the comfort and styling. Ticks a lot of boxes for me. It was close though, I really love subs/seadwellers and I wouldn't be particularly disappointed with a 116600, or a 116613.D0425015-712E-43D5-A321-9A25167E18F2.jpeg
Think I'm gonna have to get this.....
Sneaky Rolex added this dial to the inventory at Basel. Not much was said of it, but I'm in love!! I had this dial on the TT DJII and really loved it. Doubt this one will have a 2 year waitlist to it either. They offer the dial on both smooth and fluted bezels as well as oyster or jubilee as well (4 options) a little torn on the oyster vs fluted option....Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
