March LA.B AM3 Review
Based is LA and Biarritz, France, March LA.B has set out to create watches that mix the ambiance and style of 60's and 70's luxury with contemporary manufacturing and remarkable detailing. A quick look at their instagram will give you a better sense of this, as they mix photos of their watches with classic cars, a still from a Bond flick (Connery era, of course) and the odd Helmut Newton photograph. While brands often attempt to associate themselves with iconic imagery to bask in the style of others, March LA.B's watches are the first I've seen that actually achieve it. Quietly, they mix form, finishing, color and material to create pieces that are dark, handsome and stylish. Often, the watches we discuss on worn&wound can be categorized as rugged, slick, classic, aggressive, masculine, etc While many of those terms still apply, the March LA.B AM3 adds a word we don't often use: glamorous. While authentic style gets you a long way, design, finishing and value complete a quality watc
What is your dream ROO spec?
What do you want to see AP produce? Which ROO would you buy today if it was available? What is your perfect spec?I want to see a 44mm ROO with a new in-house chronograph movement, RG case, Cermet bezel and an open worked dial. But I will probably buy the first ROO with a cermet bezel and an updated movement regardless of size or case material.
Question: any difference between strap for tang buckle and for deployant clasp?
When I had a strap replaced at HSWA recently Tracey noted that the deployant clasp was not on a strap for the deployant. But then I guess it still works - buckle or deployant. She gave me a proper strap. What's the difference? Just length in general? Yes, I should have asked Tracey while I was there...
New to me . . this little thing
Owner of many many Pams since early 2000s . . but lost the excitement with the brand (like many others have unfortunately). Also, decided that 47mm was not for me anymore and sold my last Pam 372 a year or so ago. Despite this I would always say Panerai is my favorite watch brand and the 372 was possibly my favorite watch I've owned. I'm not financially fortunate enough to keep lots of watches in a safe deposit, never to be worn, so it had to go. Anyway, moving on... I've always quite fancied the 512 since it came out. When I got the opportunity to have one at the right price I grabbed it. They are quite rare in the UK for some reason. Very few come up for sale. Enjoying wearing this one. So 'svelte', hardly know you have it on but still has enough Panerai presence. Loving the manual wind . . and then there's being back in the strap changing game !
Hulk... real question ahead...
Now then, The Hulk vs Batman topics are getting a bit boring, every few days this question pops up... 'which one to go for'... the answer to this rather bland question is... WHATEVER YOU LIKE MOST.Back in 2014 both where sitting in the window of an AD as i walked passed... had to go and try them both on... The hulk, although nice, its just too green and a limited wear watch, by that I mean it shouts too much on the wrist and the green clashes with a lot clothing colours... the BLNR on the other hand, much more toned down, the blue looks bright or dark depending on the light. Yes, the Hulk dial is amazing, the bezel also pings... but too much IMO.Now, back to my question...The Hulk hype is currently going off the scale, rumours that this is going to be discontinued shortly (to which NOTHING has been confirmed, despite what people are reporting for Ad's!) Prices are going through the roof due to 'talk'. My Ad is still taking orders! Soo... with all this in mind... the question...Would th
