Watches NEWS
The Superocean 44mm has landed.
My Superocean 44mm has arrived, I picked this up from an AD in Calgary which is 2.5 hours south of me. The reason I bought it from an AD in another city is the fact that our local AD didn't want to play the discount game, so I phoned around for pricing but I didn't go with the lowest price. I could have bought the watch for $250.00 less, but I did take reputation into consideration. Aside from that, they said that if there is a need for service work I can send it to them and they will send it to Breitling Canada free of charge. They will also refinish the watch anytime I want whenever I'm down in Calgary. I also get a free service before the end of the warranty period which is 2 years. You may notice some lines on the markers around the bezel, they are actually raised SS markers that have a heavy brushed finish to match the brushed look on the watch. She is one solid piece of metal that sports a 44 mm diameter, 16.7 mm thick with a Breitling cal 17 movement. It also has an AR coating o
I Sold It (PO) and Bought It Back!
Yes, quite the dumb move I know. I didn't realize how much I would miss it! I rationalized the sale by telling myself that I would get something better and that the PO was too similar to my other watches (Rolex Sub, GMTIIc, SD). The fact is that this watch is near perfection. Hopefully, I'll have more sense this time around and keep it in the stable! Here's a photo of my old PO (I hope to pick up my new one after work):
Satisfaction?
Hi all, as you know I would like as my 3rd Patek, in 10-12 months from now, to buy a 5167R, but I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't either just get a SS, almost half the price, they abuse a little on this model IMO, paying 2 times more because there's a little bit of gold is a little too much IMO, even if I would probably be getting one when we will come back to France for vacation and since we will be living in Thailand we should have 16.9% tax refund, since the retail in euros is around 31K, with the tax refund it should be around 26K which is already more acceptable than 31K, but stillOn pics I find the SS nice but no where near the 5167R which I find really special, but since it's almost impossible to see a 5167SS in real, by the way if ever you own one and come to Paris would love to buy you a drink and to see the watch in real life.I'm afraid that if I get the SS I would be compromising and would get bored of it, flip it loosing money and getting in the end the 5167R.Either o
My flybacks
Love them!!
Baselworld 2018 new models.
Given that Rolex like to tell us it takes a year to make a single watch.I was wondering when the new Basel 2018 watches would have been giventhe green light to start the production run for release to the market in 2018.I understand there will probably be a certain amount of modular design going on, for all the obvious reasons. Couldn't help pondering what the lead time would be for the thousands of 'All New' parts required for Baselworld 2018 releases?Any Rolex 'moles' logged in, for a 'horses mouth' opinion?
