Vintage Omega shopping
Hello all,I was out and about today and ran across a little vintage watch shop with a great selection of Omegas.I really like the Seamaster Chronograph and the Chronostop, which has an original Omega leather strap and deployant. I'm not sure of the actual value of either. They both need a good service/cleaning, but otherwise they are in great shape. They also had the Speedmaster 125! That thing is a beast! Any opinions on these? I apologize for the crappy cell phone pics....[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
Maison Fondee En 1848
Is there any significance or value (or lack thereof) to a case back saying 'Maison Fondee Ex 1848'? I'm currently considering a watch with this feature and don't have any idea if it's a plus, a minus, has no meaning or a clear sign to run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Some Guidance requested
Hello All! I am in the market for my first Patek. I wanted to get some thoughts on different pieces. I am torn between the 5711, 5167, 5726 or 5164. My current collection consists of AP and Rolex. I have a 39mm EXI, 116718, 15300 and AP Diver on bracelet. I am not opposed to moving the diver or buying outright. I have not tried on a 5711, I have a 5712 but know that the 5712 wears slightly larger. I have worn a 5167 and love it however prefer the nautilus bracelet to the aquanaut's. That being said I would do the rubber strap. I am looking for some guidance on where to begin and what questions need to be asked etc...I don't have a clear direction with Patek. Many thanks all!
Datejust indecision...
I have owned several, perhaps should have held onto one of 'em, but thinking about getting a new, 36mm. Not sure though how I feel about the new bling they have. Is it an everyday watch? Or is it now kind of dressy with all that polish? I had some nice two tones but felt they were kind of dressy. So I think stainless is best for me. I saw this one on a post out here and it gassed me! And I know where to get one. These pictures are so much better than what I have seen in ads and catalogs. Curious as to what this dial is called. And I dig the plain bezel, never owned one. The fluted just seems too shiny to me these days. And please, don't get me wrong or take offense, I know they are all cool, great watches. And my taste changes all the time! Feel free to chime in!
An Honest to Goodness "REAL" Tool-Watch...
You can hammer nails with it...Ward off attachers...And use it as a step stool to reach those upper shelves...It even tells time...
