Tudor Watch Co. Partners with International Motor Sports Association
Fans of the Rolex Daytona know that Rolex has a long association with auto racing. What many may not know is that Rolex’s sister brand, Tudor, also has a close connection to motorsports, and strengthened those ties this year by becoming the “entitlement partner” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). Tudor first announced the partnership at its U.S. launch event on September 12, where attendees got a first glimpse of a specially branded Audi R8, representing the inauguration of what will now be called the Tudor United SportsCar Championship, sanctioned by the IMSA. The car, emblazoned with an image of the Tudor Grantour Chrono Fly-Back watch, made another promotional appearance last week, parked in front of New York’s Wempe Jewelers boutique, which now sells the full collection of Tudor watches. Hey guys!I just bought my first Rolex and thought I would share my story on this forum. I started getting into watches a few years ago and my small collection already contains a Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 and an Oak and Oscar Sandford. I guess I caught the rolex bug a few months ago... So, the Rolex bug being hard to cure I pulled the trigger on a submariner today at lunch. Here's the story.At first I was unsure about which model to get, I was torn between the Submariner and the Batman. In the end I decided to go with the Submariner as I feel it fits me better and is more discreet. So during the holidays I wrote to a local AD to inquire about the availability of the no date submariner and the Batman. I got a negative response on both watches and they also told me that there is a waiting list for these models. Damn that sucks, but gotta move on...
