Hublot Watch Winder Safe By Dottling
As useful as they are, people still don't get super excited about watch winders. Well, perhaps most watch winders. The upper echelon of watch winders are incredibly impressive machines that do way more than merely keep your favorite automatic timepieces well-wound. A fun and stimulating example is the Hublot Safe produced by watch winder and safe maker Dottling.I got to check out this machine hands-on and I must admit that the over-the-top super watch accessory is as appealing as it is priced for people who own more than one yacht. Orange PO Bezel Differences?
Is there a difference between the old orange bezel PO (2500 Caliber) and new (8500)? The new doesn't look quite as shiny, but I know they're both aluminum. Someone told me they couldn't replicate the color on ceramic for some reason. Old Bezel:New Bezel:

Just picked this up today. It was not too tough a choice between the chrono and non chrono. For me I didn't think the chrono was worth the extra 2k and I already have a nice Breitling M1 SuperQuartz. I am also partial to the sweep second hand....Sorry for the crummy photos. I know my skills are inferior in that regard, but the watch is really quite nice looking.

A Little Late to the 5131R Party!
I have waited for this one for it seems like a long time. I owe Danny Govberg and George Mayer my sincere thanks for the quality of my collection!! We have been together for many years and I hope for many more. Last fall the Patek Philippe trip was the highlight of my watch collecting journey!! When Govberg does a trip, they do it right. It's now time to set this one free!

Thoughts....?
I often wonder what attract people to certain watches. Specifically a variant of a particular watch. Take the 114060 and the 116610LN for instance? I get that it boils down to personal preference. I personally am not a fan of the new SD. I love my 16600 and 14600. Has no date and looks classic to me. I guess what it boils down to is that I had a conversation with a sales guy today at another AD in the NE. I wanted to look at a 114060 and was basically talked out of it today. His position was if it didn't have a date, it wouldn't appear to others as a Rolex or wasn't a 'real' one. I laid my DT-C on the counter and said, This doesn't have a date, is this not real based on your explanation and may I please see the watch I asked about? He was perplexed for two reasons I imagine. One: He had never seen one in person, and how was it that I had one. In other words, a date signifies Rolex in his millennial eyes. I let him talk. I personally don't buy Rolex for what others think.
