Concept to Reality: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie
At last year's SIHH, Audemars Piguet introduced a concept minute repeater C the RD#1 Acoustic Research C as part of a series showcasing new technology and materials developed by?the brand's R&D department. The prototype was the result of eight years of research and represented a breakthrough in the acoustic quality and volume of chiming technology. This year the concept has become a reality. The Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie is now performance-ready and commercially available. The Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie is now commercially available. While some minute repeaters need to be held to the ear in order to listen to?the melody, the Supersonnerie chime can be heard loud and clear from the bleachers. Audemars Piguet is not exaggerating when it says?the chime?is 10 times louder than a typical chiming watch. The main innovation lies in the case construction. The RO Blue Hype is heading toward 5711 territory
MAN! Talk about fast. Over the last six months, I've watched the prices on blue 15400s and 15202s start to rocket to the moon. Obviously, blue dials have always been a tougher get, but it's now been confirmed to me by ADs all up and down the west coast of the US that these blue 15400s and 15202s and now 100% boutique only, and if you call the boutique, you're laughed off the phone asking for one. Now, I managed to get one grey, but dam AP - way to grind it into the faces of your fans.
Planet Ocean 42 mm question
Hi everyone, I was looking for input from 42 mm PO wearers. I have been looking at this model for awhile, and am especially interested in the newer model, I believe the bezel has a grayish hue to it, I really like that look a lot, and was wondering how you folks who have them like the look of the watch, and the bracelet. I've had several rolexes...all gone but one now...but, have a vintage speedmaster, and am looking for a dive watch now, and this model really has my attention...could you also confirm whether it has a domed crystal, I believe it does, but, have not seen one in person.Thank you for your time!Kelly.
5711 Blue price in Australia
Just got a call from my local AD, said they will be getting a 5711 blue dial in August for 21K USD. Not sure how this matches up to prices in other countries but I think it's quite a good deal specially if you coming from over seas you would also be able to get the taxes off.
Which one should I Keep?
I wish to go down to just one from these three lovely Rolex. The reason for the change is that I wish to fund another purchase but I don't want this to affect which one people would keep from the three below. While I accept the Daytona would by itself raise nearly as much as the other two, I also wish to have two nice Rolex, one of these and the new purchase hence why I wish to go down to one - my AD will get a surprise in the new year when I turn up for it! Please put aside anything apart from which you like best and which you would keep and think will be the best to live with for many years to come side by side with one more Rolex. 1. BLNR 2016 - bought new2. Submariner 2010 16610 - bought nos3. Daytona Ceramic white dial - bought new and paid retail
