Oris 4e RHFS Limited Edition Watch
Based on the good ol' Oris BC4 watch, comes this special limited edition version that was made for, and tested by the French 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment (4me Regiment d'Helicoptres des Forces Speciales). These are one of the main helicopter regiment guys in France. Would it be a good idea for anyone to make more watches to celebrate US regiments and divisions? While I am sure these guys in France are as hardcore as they comeon the world scene the French military doesn't exactly have a bad-ass "we are gonna win and beat the crap out of you" reputation. That pretty much ended with Napoleon. And these days most people just remember him as a funny little man as opposed to a brilliant military leader-? but I digress.According to Oris, the 4e RHFS watch (that totally could have been named better) was actually tested by the 4th regiment - which is pretty neat. Like I said, the watch is based on the Oris BC4 collection, but has some fun differences. First is the 42.7mm wide steel
Pre-Basel 2008 - Certina Podium DS, A Podium Finish Every Time
Certina has been in the business of making outstanding Swiss watches since 1888. Now into its 120th year of enterprise the company has remained true to its vision of innovation and excellence. Even after all this time the watchmaking ethos of the company can be expressed in three key words: style, reliability and precision. This is perfectly illustrated by the latest chronograph model in its emblematic DS Podium line. Equipped with the famous ETA Valgranges movement for large watches, an automatic movement with a very long energy reserve (the power curve is very smooth), and a calibre that lends itself very well to customization, it is growing in stature and confirming its temperament. For many successful years now, Certina has been an official Partner of the BMW Sauber F1 Team and their ace driver Robert Kubica. This strong association with motorsport is evident in every aspect of the design of this stunning timepiece, especially the clarity of the dial. Many chronographs can often appe
Does anyone here prefer the steel roc to the rose gold roc on bracelet?
HI, just curious if anyone here prefers the look of the look of the steel roc to the rose gold roc? regardless of pricing.. My thinking is even though the gold is incredible feel and weight on the wrist its not really an everyday watch and probably very fragile especially with the gold bracelet?
Incoming Tomorrow
Since I sold my 2 APs, I needed a daily beater. 5522 is a ways away as is the 5524. So got a call from my AD that he had a piece that my brother wanted but my bro decided to bail. So it looks like it's mine. It's not a Patek by rhymes with Gorex. :)Not a planned purchase but I'll take it.
Hulk or YM II if cost is subsidized
I currently have the current reference GMT II in TT and have an opportunity to acquire either Hulk or YM II am not certain which way to go... I am getting 6K towards the purchase so basically Hulk would wind up costing me $2000-$3000 not certain yet because the discount has not Been confirmed. As for YM 2 on SS my out of pocket will $8600. Obviously i know they are very different looking models and am partial to Hulk but feels light to me due to TT weight I used to (also have and am used to wearing Panerai Pam88 which is 44mm) I tired the YM II at the local AD but couldn’t really get the feel due to lack of sizing on bracelet as it was fully linked so I was just able to set it on my wrist but couldn’t really experience how it would feel once secured on.. I have to make the decision by Tuesday, any opinions and insights are welcome
