Hands-On: The Breitling Transocean Chronograph 1915 Monopusher
Breitling has released several models commemorating vintage chronographs in the last few months – notably the Transocean Chronograph and the Chronoliner. After our initial coverage of Breitling’s new Transocean Chronograph 1915, many readers were curious of how it would handle in the metal. While updated in comparison to its vintage counterparts from which it draws inspiration, it is a modern offering with bygone flair.? 1 OF 6 The Transocean Chrono wears smaller than expected, but not that small (and I’m not slim-wristed). With a 43 mm diameter and at almost 15 mm thick, it’s a large watch. The lugs hug the wrist rather well, but not enough to completely counteract its presence. Still, it fits fine under a cuff and is surprisingly lighter than expected. 2 OF 6 While the Transocean commemorates Breitling’s first independent chronograph push-piece, I feel that this watch draws quite a bit of inspiration from the Breitling Premie
Let's talk 15202
Hey Gang,Currently I've been thinking about changing some things up in my collection, ok I'm always doing that but...I had received an offer from a super nice guy here on TRF for a trade which included me receiving a 15202. Although that specific trade did not come to fruition, it did put the 15202 on my brain radar So here's the question:I currently own a 15400 silver dial which I really love. If I had to think of one complaint it would be mayyyybe it's a tad big. It looks fine on me. I do like the size. It gives it a bit of a sporty look on an otherwise very dressed up watch. The 15400 seems to not get much love here on the forum, overshadowed by the 15300 and even more so by the 15202. I'm fine with that, I'm past buying watches only because they are popular . So I thought I'd get some thoughts about the 15202 when it gets down to the brass tacks. PRO's:-The 15202 may be considered the purist Royal Oak, retaining much of the DNA from the original Genta design. From an horological p
incoming 15300!
Hi all!I have had the 15300 for a few weeks now and an incoming was long overdue! I've seen the Royal Oak for the first time on a window display in a watch boutique in Basel during my vacation and was smitten since, and the more I studied into it, the more I realised what an iconic watch it is.Long story short, I've wanted a 39 due to a small wrist and wanted it new-ish and how lucky am I to have purchased it from a TRF member Armin which made it even more special ! It was close to new and a late 2012 purchase. Perfect!I am in Australia and had a colleague attending the CES in Vegas and had it shipped there. One week later, my colleague handed over the watch and the rest is history! Royal Oaks are a classic and definitely a keeper and it looks stunning. Photo time! I took it to Singapore the next day on a business trip and had the bracelet adjusted at the local AD. view from the hotelWore it on a date in a Tapas bar in Singapore. 15400 quality issues?
Hi there,I'm very happy with my 15400, it's a stunner!Having said this, the thing has some issues that worries me. Bought it a month or so ago fresh from the AD. When I set the date only the crown seems to get stuck while turning it. Turning it slightly back and forth will solve it, but still. When I set the time, the second hand will hack, but when pushing the crown towards the case the second hand will not move. Only after i shake the watch a bit. And it runs +15sec/24h.I will wait a while to break it in, it's on rotation so I don't wear it often. I will wear it for the next month or so and wait what happens. If is doesn't get better I will sell it. I'm not going to wait 6 months for a repair on a brand new watch. Besides that, heard enough horror stories about AP's after sales.
Winding
Recently bought a Panerai 312 and I am new to this brand. Winding the watch even from it being stopped I feel a slight resistance what I assume is the seals? I have worn a 116610LV Submariner for years so probably just not used to the Panerai yet! Thought I would ask anyway! Also is it normal the crown gives a fairly positive click back into place when you have adjusted the date/time?
