Top 10 Living Legend Watches To Own
If you look at many of the most popular watch brands, you'll notice that their collections usually contain a few (or many) classics whose names have been around for years. Brands like Rolex don't really release new models, but rather continue to improve on their core collection over time. Models like the Submariner and Datejust have been around for generations. Other brands also keep tradition alive by continuing to offer modern versions of designs that have proved successful for many years. To recognize and help suggest those watches which are "living legends" we've come up with a list of the top 10 worth owning. To be clear, to be a living legend, a watch must have historic roots and still be produced today. We know we couldn't include them all so mention your favorites in the comments below.1. Rolex SubmarinerIt was 1954 that Rolex originally released the Submariner, and the watch industry hasn't been the same since. The Submariner was never released as a luxury product, but rather
SMP "Speedy" bracelet vs. Speedmaster "Speedy" bracelet
Over the years, Omega has offered the Seamaster Professional with two bracelet options: The basket weave Bond or the Speedy styled bracelet.Someone on another forum asked why the Speedy Pro (3570.50) bracelet seemed lighter than his SMP Speedy bracelet. FYI, here is the answer I shared. The only difference between the two bracelets is the clasp.Top view:Side views with the SMP on top:Side by side with SMP in the forefront:The design of the SMP bracelet makes it heavier. Note that the SMP clasp is longer and contains a diver expansion; i.e., more steel; ergo, more weight. As most of your know, I do not care for the ref. 1998 Speedy Pro bracelet due to the extreme arc of the clasp. The SMP clasp is flatter and wears more comfortably on my wrist.I also prefer the SMP Speedy bracelet over the Bond. I prefer the fit and taper of the Speedy. And over time the Bond links wear and become unsightly. The Speedy links are more easily maintained.
New Swiss Ammo Strap has Arrived!
Sometime back I jumped into a thread by Traveller C with comments by Cru Jones as well C re: straps from Dangerous9. The latter is a bespoke strap company consisting of an American craftsman living and working in Munich, Germany. As a reminder, here is Travellers thread. His photos are much nicer and detailed than mine!.rolexforums/showthrea...highlight=ammoDangerous 9 straps are made from a variety of animal skins C Gator, Lizard and other exotics plus leathers such as straps made from Swiss Ammunition pouches.dangerous9straps.blogspot/I also have a Teju Lizard strap on the way. I will update this thread once that piece arrives.Note. These straps are not cheapand due to world-wide demand, it can take between 13 to 16 weeks to get a strap. But back to the AmmoThe pouches date back from the 60's to 50's and then some. The older pouches C pictured below, have changed in construction over the years. The older ones had two pouches in the front for holding Ammo with a stitch running down t
Unload 425 or 557 for 233 Please advise
I currently own two base Panerai 425 and 557. I want to add a 233 for its complications and date. I need to unload either the 425 or 557 to fund for the 233. The problem is I like them equally and I can't make up my mind. I am set for the 233 so I'll end up with 1 base and 1 complication to my PAM collection. If you guys have time please give me your 2 cents and help me justify what piece to let go and keep. Thanks again TRF.
