Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends July 31, 2015
Some watch enthusiasts love modern pieces while some of us love vintage, there's no right or wrong. But if you love shiny new things, this round-up features new watches from A. Lange & S?hne, IWC, Angelus, Tudor, and more. And as for a bonus, we even feature an over the top watch winder from LumiSidus, coated in 24k gold.Shiny new things aside, we also take a look at vintage watches, and we are turning our attention to a much overlooked brand, Breitling. We also take a look at which vintage piece watch journalists would buy if money were no object. Finally, we visit the workshop of independent watchmakers Gr?nefeld in Oldenzaal, Netherlands, to see how they make their unique watches.1. A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk Minute Repeater Watch Hands-OnEvery year, A. Lange & S?hne announces a new hero watch at SIHH. make it a successful Versace watch this year
Overall, the handsome watch gives off a classic sense that will surely make it a successful Versace watch this year. But if you are a watch expert, you will easily notice that the watch bears certain resemblance to the Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch, either from the dial layout or the bracelet design.
Aerospace?
Was at my local Rolex AD today, and just happened by the Breitling area. I have been a long time fan of the brand, and own a Chronomat Evolution. Love it although it doesn't get much wrist time these days. Just feels way too big.Anyway, I saw the aerospace and tried it on briefly. Loved it, but wanted to ask what the general feeling was on here for that watch? Does it wear well? Hard to maintain with batteries? Better to buy AD or TRF trusted seller? If TRF, any recommendations as to who? Thanks
Silver Snoopy has landed
A few Q&D's of the new Snoopy speedy.Omega was the first brand I bought when I could afford a nice watch. I then owned several of them before abandoning ship for the unknown diverse waters of this insane hobby of ours.A week or so ago I discovered the Snoopy and after making 20+ plus calls I sadly discovered that it was sold out and no one would even take a name in case somebody bailed. As luck would have it, one popped up on TZ and a deal was made and the watch is now on my wrist. Nothing like instant gratification :)I am pysched to be back in the Omega fold with a Speedy. A classic watch for sure. I also have a lifelong love of Peanuts and Snoopy. Love everything about this watch. The dial is a work of art and so is the back. And like my Deepsea, you don't notice the writing on the dial unless you really look. Even with my reading glasses on I can barely make out the 14 seconds quote.Enjoy!
