Pre-SIHH 2016: Vacheron Constantin
Vacheron Constantin has just announced that for the 2016 SIHH, they’ll be introducing four new models into the Métiers d'Art Fabuleux Ornements collection. The collection was first introduced two years ago as part of the larger Métiers d'Art collection of timepieces, and basically, they’re intended as a celebration of the decorative arts of different cultures, with Ottoman architecture, Chinese embroidery, Indian manuscript, and French lace. These arts are interpreted through engraving and openworking, as well as through enameling techniques, including cloisonné and champlevé, and guilloché engraving techniques.The new references use the same basic design motifs as the models introduced in 2014, but with variations in colors as well as new case materials. I just went to an AD and REALLY wanted the watch (stolen picture below for reference). However, with a list of $3,300 I thought there was room for bargaining. I offered 10% less for a cash today purchase, and they said No dice. They argued the same thing I've heard from Rolex, that Omega won't allow discounts anymore. So I left. Then I went back, and tried again. Then the manager said the same thing. So I left again.So what do you think? Are they really holding firm for policy reasons? I was wearing my Rolex 14060 at the time, and I wasn't sure if that had something to do with it. I went in looking for a blue-face Turn-O-Graph, but they didn't have one. I'm currently obsessing on watches with blue faces, for some reason.Someone through amazon is selling the watch for $2700 - should I just go that way, or are their Authorized Dealer issues with this?Thanks!

Does anyone have this? Could you post some pictures? I think this is the one I want, but the only pictures I've seen online are of the face of the watch (amazon, alan furman). If you have this particular reference, do you like it? I like the markers better than the 2264.50, but how do the skeleton hands work for you?Thanks in advance- Chris

Substantial Damage Repair
Hello,Has anyone had any experience with having substantial damage repaired by Patek? Say, for example, a lug was hit extremely hard (enough to essentially chip the steel away) and I wanted Patek to repair it. What sort of cost and time frame shall I expect? I recall Chasseur has had some damage laser repaired but this is more than a scratch, this is a lug completely deformed. I would appreciate any insight. Luckily, I have the watch insured.
