IWC Portofino Watch Available On James List
As far as I am concerned the "lost" IWC watch model is the Portofino. Yes, they still made the watch - in at least a few varieties - but you never hear about it. Perhaps this is a function of myself being in the US, but I have yet to see real marketing for the Portofino. It isn't a bad timepiece at all. Over time the IWC Portofino watch has changed, but right here is the basic, entry level Portofino model. There is also a chronograph version in production. In my opinion, the Portofino is the basic, entry level "formal" watch from IWC. It sits close in theme to the Portuguese, but is different. This is a nice watch, but not meant to be a modern watch. It is from a more simple time, when a good watch was easy on the eyes, and drew credibility from a good name on the dial. And there it is, those three letters that are world-know to signify good quality from Schaffhausen - of the only text on the dial. I first really became aware of the Portofino as a good looking classy watch while spendin
Halios Tropik SS Review
Just a few months ago we reviewed the Halios Tropik B, one of the more interesting bronze dive watches to drop in recent memory. With a relatively small cushion case, an elegant vintage inspired dial and an interesting bronze alloy, it's the kind of unique design that comes along once in a while and leaves a lasting impression. This seems to be the MO for Halios, whose watches are always different from the herd and priced very fairly. In tandem to the Tropik B, Halios released the Tropik SS, or stainless steel model. Though the same watch in terms of general DNA, the different material, and inclusion of a rotating bezel, make the Tropik SS a different experience. When you browse contemporary sub $1000 dive watches, you are likely to find something missing; dress divers. Sure, there are brands that make smaller or downsized models, but they are still clunky, tool watches. Hearkening to the mid 20th century, the Tropik SS has an elegance that while not a "dress watch" in the classic sense
How much it will cost to replace a ss case?
Hi, there is a AP Roo for sale here in my country, the thing is the watch was pvd treated, and I guess dial and hands replaced so one model would look like something else. The watch is horrible, but if I could replace the case, bracelet, dial and hands perhaps I could end up with a nice watch. But for how much? Anyone knows the cost of a new ss case, dial and hands for an AP 44mm in ss? Went to boutique ( without the watch) and they told it would cost as much as a new watch, is this true? I think i can get the watch for just over 7 k. Thanks and happy 2017 to everyone!Enviado de meu SM-N910C usando Tapatalk

Flip SubC Date for 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller...would you?
Hi all, I have a SubC Date that was my first Rolex (and gifted to me), now sitting around unworn for quite a while. My other two watches are a Hulk and a Batman, which I rotate. I'm more and more considering selling the Sub and getting a 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller, cause it is similar to the Sub, but yet very different. With these thoughts, and a price difference of $5k, give or take, would you do it?Thanks!
