Introducing: The Girard-Perregaux Laureato 2016 (Could This Be The Watch That Puts GP Back On Top?)
If there were a special Academy (or whomever) Award for most underappreciated watch brand, at least in the U.S., I am pretty sure that Girard-Perregaux would be on the list. At least on paper, they tick all the boxes – great in-house movements (that have been found, over the years, in one form or another, in a lot of other brands’ watches) and a fantastic history, as well as some very iconic designs. Part of the problem is that one of their most recognized, and recognizable, watches is very much at the high end: the Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon, and its variations; another part of the problem is that they’ve never really had a breakout, long-lived modern success that’s become ubiquitous in the same way as, say, the Submariner, or the Tudor Black Bay, or the Royal Oak. And yet, they do have a watch in their history that could very easily become that watch for the brand: the Laureato, which they've relaunched this year, in near-exact reproduction of the fir
trade SS daytona for diver?
Hey guys, would you trade a random serial, March 2015, complete kit, SS 116520 black dial for an AP diver I serial? The AP has papers but no box. Would you trade straight? Would you add money on top of the daytona? Would you not trade? Appreciate some opinions and thoughts! Never owned an AP before...
AP Incoming!
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum, signed up because of the AP forum, wanted to know more about the brand and different models. I'm on the process of acquiring my first Audemars Piguet, a new stainless diver. I should have it mid-week, looking forward to getting it as this is the nicest watch I've owned. I have had a few watches in my past collection, including Breitling, Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Panerai and Tag Heuer. I'm down to 3 now, a Panerai 328, Baume & Mercier Riviera and now the AP Diver. Thanks!
Anyone wear Nautilus every day?
Question for you one-watch Nautilus wearers, if there's any out there:Are there times you don't wear the Nautilus? Do you wear something else, or go wrist-commando?I've been debating getting a tool watch. Thoughts run from $400 Hamilton to $4,000 Sub. I just bought an AP Royal Oak moon phase, but that's hardly the tool watch I had in mind. And now that I'm wearing my Nautilus for the first time in the three days since I got the AP, I'm beginning to think I want Patek and nothing else. And believe me, that Royal Oak is a fabulous watch from every point of view. I'm not looking for advice here on which tool watch to get. Rather, I'm looking for thoughts on being a one watch (or one brand) guy if anyone out there can identify with that! As always, thanks in advance for responding to my inquiries (none of which have any bearing on the truly important things in life!) Just a hobby to enjoy when we can, right? Cheers!
AP RO first then PP 5617 or PP first or just PP?
Hi,**it's 5167 of course, sorry**I understand that I'm asking this in a PP forum, but try your best to be unbiased! My first inclination was to get a AP RO first for my daily wear to rotate with my Cartier Santos, I alse have a Rolex DateJust which I dont wear very often..and I have just purchased a JLC Reverso for evenings/weekends which i absolutely love. I have yesterday parted ways with my Panerai PAM104 to recoup my credit card balance sheet. I really want to own a piece of AP RO as well because I love iconic watches and there the RO is definitely in this genre. On the other hand, as I see more Aquanauts, I love it more and more and I do not have a rubber bracelets which will come in handy when I travel a lot for work in South East Asia..such as Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia etc.. I also like how versatile it looks and of course I always wanted to own a PP!Advise please thank you!
