Anyone going to Time Crafters in NY on 9/15?
Going to be heading to the Time Crafters on Saturday 9/15. Looks to be a great event with a lot of the brands showing. I know a few friends that attended last year's event and said it was great. Here's the link if anyone is interested..timecrafters/
Certificate of Authenticity Question. To get or not to get?
While my 5402 is at the service in Le Brassus I've been offered to get a Certificate of Authenticity from the manufacture. The cost of this certificate is $450 as the watch is 34 years old and I am already paying $2800 for the service so it's already a big out of pocket.Should I get it or not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Watches are the new currency!
Speedmaster Professional strap wearers
I have a new Speedy Pro inbound, and wanted to ask you guys with straps if you prefer the standard clasp, or a deployant?Looking at all the pics posted in this forum, it's hard to tell what most of you guys are using. It appears that the deployant would be far easier to get the watch on and off, and cause less wear to the strap. However, I don't know if it is comfortable, secure, etc.Any help would be appreciated, ready to strap it on!Oh, and a HUGE thanks to Fr. John+ and his AD. Quite easily the most pleasurable and hassle-free watch purchase I have ever made.
New Patek Philippe magazine is out
Just found Volume III, number 12 in my mailbox. Make sure to pick up your copy at an AD if you dont receive it automatically.
Autmatatic Movements
I've owned a couple of self wind watches from a number of different brands such as Rolex,JLC, Panerai, IWC, and Brietling.Granted some of these didn't have in house movements but they had solid ETA movements.Regardless it appears that when I let my Nautilus and Royal Oak run down it really takes very little to get the watch running again. Basically picking it up and slight movement is all it takes and the watch will start running.I generally do give them 40 winds if I'm going to wear them, I just thought it was pretty cool how it took very little before they would start running.
