Luxury Watch Industry's Dilemma In Hong Kong
Photo Credit: Jason FungAround the world, people are carefully watching news about the protests in Hong Kong. From the popular #OccupyHongKong hashtag and bloggers on the streets to the mainstream press, I think the world is curious to see how Beijing will handle the delicate political situation in China's strongest economic market. Something that is beginning to make itself clear is that the protests in Hong Kong related to free rule will hugely impact on the luxury watch industry, now and going forward.Let's put things into context. Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland Watch
Girard-Perregaux is about to release a new version of the still new Chrono Hawk called the Hollywoodland. An unofficial homage to the movie making capital of the world, the Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland is the latest effort in the brand's focus on entering the world of Hollywood. In 2012 Girard-Perregaux announced that it was going to be a sponsor and founding supporter of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The museum is currently in construction and will stand as an important cinema museum here in Los Angeles.Despite sounding like it, the Chrono Hawk Hollywoodland is not going to be a limited edition watch. Instead, it will sit as part of the larger Chrono Hawk collection. There will be two versions of the Hollywoodland watch, with one having a darker gray dial (ref.?49970-34-232-BB6A) and the other a lighter dial (ref.?49970-34-132-BB6A). We aren't going to discuss the Chrono Hawk watch at length again, but for more information about the watch read our watches-dealer hands-on Chrono

Vintage Omega Help
Hi everyone,I am a newbie to the forum and am looking for advice please.I own an Omega P.O 45mm (and love it) and have caught the 'Omega Bug' badly. I am interested in acquiring a vintage Omega for formal wear etc.I would appreciate any advice (or links to previous discussion threads) as to which models/calibres to look for or avoid? Thanks for your help in advance and regards to all.
5711 or DD2
If you could only afford one high end watch (high end Rolex or entry level PP) would you get the DD2 in yellow gold or would you get a 5711 and why?
