Baselworld 2015: Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII (Updated with Live Photos)
At Baselworld 2015, Bremont unveils two new watches designed in partnership with Jaguar. Calling upon the watch and car brands' shared British heritage, the new Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII have features reminiscent of the classic Jaguar E-Type from the 1960s.The MKI and MKII are extensions from a six-piece limited edition that Bremont made last summer. Jaguar produced six handmade continuation E-Types, built to the specifications of the Lightweight E-Type of 1964. Bremont's special pieces were made as a complement to those cars. The new watches will not be produced in a limited edition and are intended to be more affordable: whereas the limited-edition Lightweight watch was made of white gold and aluminum, the MKI and MKII are cased in stainless steel. The major Jaguar features are visible on the dials of the MKI (small seconds) and the MKII (chronograph). Both watches were designed in conjunction with Jaguar to echo the car's dashboard. My First Grail Watch: Bill Yao Of MK II
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. ?Today, we're talking with Bill Yao, the man behind the independent watch brand MK II.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Bill Yao (BY): I am the owner and founder of Mk II Watches.ABTW: What were your first grail watches?BY: I have two that were acquired in rapid succession. The Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch and the Zenith El Primero "TV screen" Chronograph.ABTW: Was there ever a time in your life when you could afford either of them?BY: I ended up buying the Omega about 2-3 years after I started working in New York. I could barely afford it, and, at the time, I actually had to spread the purchase across two credit cards. The Zenith was purchased less than a year later.I bought the Omega, naturally, because it was the first watch worn on the moon.

Rolex vs Invicta.........Apples and oranges?
I understand there's virtually no comparison between the two watches in both quality and heritage. But I wonder, Invicta watches I'd say on average would be around $100-$500 price range. Obviously Rolex watches are much more expensive, but I wonder who makes more money at the end of the year? Invicta has shops all over the world including a huge store in the heart of Times Square. Invicta has the license for Disney and Marvel comics, dominates the shop at home network and just about every jewelery store in the country carries them. So I wonder, at the end of the day.....financially speaking, who is more successful? (Please, I know there will be some forum members anoyed buy this topic, but it's just something light hearted to discuss)
