Only Watch 2011 Raises 4,563,000 to Support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research
The fourth edition of the biennial Only Watch Charity Auction was held at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco on September 23, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. The sale brought an outstanding 4,563,000, doubling the 2009 results. The auction room was full and the sale generated intense internet and telephone bidding from around the world. Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones attended to show his support for the cause. Find complete results and images of the top five lots inside. A special birthday treat....
When your family thinks that there is something wrong with your fascination of luxury watches and a particular brand in that respect. They can't seem to relate to the obsession and passion of the same aesthetics and design to be acquired persistently. However on this day they paid a deserving tribute to the conviction and enthusiasm infused in all of us.
Regulating a Royal Oak
Hi,I noticed my 15300ST runs a bit too fast, so I was wondering if there are ways to put it in a certain position at night to (slightly) regulate it.Rolex used to include a few instructions on the guarantee form on how to regulate their watches (see picture). Will the same (or similar?) positions also work for AP ?Thanks!
Panerai tubes and push pins
Have just ordered an aftermarket rubber strap for my Panerai 233. It is a Bonatto Cinturini. As anyone used this strap before. I am not sure if the holes can fit tubes in. Will it cause any damage if i mount the straps without using the tubes and just pit the push pins in?
Traveling with multiple watches?
While I appreciate the advice (and have given it) to just take one and wear it, there are times I travel with multiple watches. Despite people saying a Sub dresses up, I disagree. I may want to bring a play at the beach and pool watch, along with a dress up for dinner watch, or perhaps just enjoy variety on a longer trip. For those who travel with multiples, I'm interested in what you do with the one or more you're not wearing.Leave zipped up in a suitcase or travel bag?Squirrel away under clothes in a dresser drawer?Stick in room safe?Give to front desk for safekeeping in a hotel safe?Something else I haven't considered? All my watches are insured, but it would still be a bummer to lose one, have to file police report, etc. I have done versions of all the above, but wonder if there's consensus with others.
