You've probably noticed a few changes around here. Welcome to a redesigned and renamed aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer, which will from here on out be known as "watches-dealerwatches-dealer." I'd like to tell you a bit about some of the new features, and what we feel is a great new way to enjoy your favorite watch website.Five years ago in 2007 when I started aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer I didn't know that it was going to be an "all watch" website - which might explain the original name of the site. A few weeks after I started the blog it became clear to me that it was going to focus on watches, perhaps exclusively. For a while I toyed with the idea of changing the name, but it never happened. I even went so far as to register a few possible new domain names. One, that was an obvious choice (as even indicated by early readers and friends of the site) was "watches-dealer." Will the 97+ Chronomat hands fit on a late-80s Chronomat?
Looking at these hands and it looks like they are from a 97+ Crosswinds.Do you think there are any issues with these fitting a late-80s chronomat? They are both basically 7750s right?Here is a photo of the hands.

Ferrari and Patek
I'm kind of curious about the relationship between Ferrari and Patek. I was at the AD the other day getting familiar with setting the moon phase and the technician was telling me how Ferrari and Patek were discussing creating a watch for Ferrari but the negotiations fell through.He was saying that normally sub-dials are in the 3,6,9 position but Ferrari wanted the dials to look like their dashboard. So, Patek designed the Nautilus 5712 to Ferrari's request. Then things went south and their relationship soured. Since PP had the movement they decided to sell the 5712. Now I have absolutely no proof of this and neither did the technician but the dash of my 360 does look like the sub-dials of the 5712. Can any of you confirm whether this is true?

New Watch, my first Patek!
Picked this guy up today, 5980 blue dial--my first Patek! I wanted something with a metal bracelet for my first Patek because I don't like wearing leather on a daily basis especially in the summer, and i've always been drawn to the Nautilus and especially the 5980. The fit and finish of this watch is outstanding, and I just love the blue dial and the way it seems to change colour in different light. I think the dial has a really clean look for a chrono and i'm glad to be able to add it to my collection! The only negative things I can say so far is the clasp seems a little 90s, and the rotor makes a little noise when it turns almost like a faint ratcheting sound. Not a big deal I guess, I think i've just been spoiled by the silent Rolex rotors. I asked the dealer about it and he said it was normal and i've also read that it's fairly common for the 5980 online as well. Anyways here is the customary wrist shot!
