Parallel Universe: The Commoner APs
From my sock drawer come two APs. Sorry, to disappoint, but they are not Royalty. These are humble commoner AP chronographs. I bought them used (dunno how many previous owners) and I don't even know how old they are. I think they are from the early 90s but maybe they are from the 80s. This is not helpful and I promise to post information if I find an AP guidebook.Why do I have 2 almost identical watches? Because they look understated and I like that--I thought they looked kinda stealthy. And my wrist is too small for an ROO. They have platinum cases around 40 mm in diameter. One has a white dial that is not easy to read because the hands are very skinny and sometimes disappear against the white. The other has a gray dial and is not easy to read for the same reason. I discovered after buying them that the stealth part is in trying to tell the time. Hello All--I am thinking of purchasing my first AP. I am considering the ROO chrono 44mm in stainless steel on rubber strap. I believe they retail for $25k or so. What is a reasonable discount on this watch? Any suggestions for AD's in California? Thank you. Chris.

I have been following this piece for 3 years and the wait is almost over thanks to my friend David Farkas (perpetualman88). I remember in 2011 My AD handed me a Patek Philippe Magazine and said maybe someday you'll want a Patek. I had purchased Panerais and Rolexes but never thought I would spend that type of serious money on a watch. There were delays as we all know as the movement and dial were not easy to make. Patek had even gone as far as to take it off their website.
