Linde Werdelin SpidoLite II Watch
Linde Werdelin follows up its brand defining SpidoLite watch with the new SpidoLite II. The original model was interesting for taking the brand's Biformeter case and skeletonizing it. Skeletonized dials aren't particularly rare, but skeletonized cases are much less common C especially in the way that Linde Werdelin does it.The original SpidoLite was designed to deconstruct as much of the case as possible to retain its strength C but also offer an intriguing design. The SpidoLite (discussed more here), contained a vintage automatic movement that was specially restored and finished by the workshops of the talented Svend Andersen. The SpidoLite was followed-up with the SpidoSpeed Chronograph C which is the where you might recognize the case design of the SpidoLite II to have originated from. Moon Phase... it's HERE! Squeeeee!
I just met with Eric, a lovely guy who operates oldwatch. After many days of questions and answers, I decided to take the plunge and we just met up to close the deal. Ca. 1950 Omega moon phase. All functions in working order - I just have to figure them out. There are 3 little buttons along the sides of the case that adjust the day, month and date hand. The silvered dial is original and unrefinished. Oh happy day. This is Eric, authority on and purveyor of excellent vintage watches at oldwatch. He's wearing a WWII bomber's watch.
What a classic!
A Speedmaster Professional 3570.50 arrived today and is on my arm now. What a watch! I just love that face! A true classic! Thanks Fr. John for turning me on to the Speedy Pro. My Speedy Pro will be an excellent companion to the SMP 2254.50 that already lives here. Cheers, Bill P.
First PAM?
Looking for my first PAM and thought I would get the experts' knowledge and opinions. I'm wanting an in-house automatic movement, black dial, black strap, and date preferred. After brief review of all models, I'm leaning toward the 321 GMT with reserve.Would this be a good first? Is this model fairly popular, so in the event I have to flip, it would be liked by more than few? Thanks in advance for everyone's input, suggestions, opinions, etc...
