Price Increase?

My Panerai journey in a year...
So my obsessions with Panerai began in 2017 (late comer.. I know) I got interested in Panerai last year when I walked into a an AD and checked out the various panerai collections. Did my newb research and decided my first Panerai would be the 560. (Not the sandwich one) Then got the 564 because i wanted to see the seconds hand moving on the dial. Then proceeded with the 1305 because i wanted something more casual and something I take to go swimming in. As the year progressed and I read more about Panerai and what makes them special, the 564 started to look too smilar to the 560 and I sold it (at a loss of course, but expected to fund for a Rolex BLNR (2015 year 2nd hand). It wasn't long before i was looking for a Panerai GMT watch and the 1320 caught my eye. Took the plunge and got the 1320. Few months later... the more I looked at the 233, the more i realized that would be my Grail Panerai watch. I kept holding back from getting the 233 because the 1320 was already a GMT... but t
Please help me understand all these codes
Hello TRF, I recently have been quite obsessed with the period correct topic. Yet the more I read, the more I'm confusing myself. I purchased a X serial TT few months ago, the warranty certificate that came with the watch has only the AD name on it but no date or owner so does not help much in dating the watch for the period correctness. I used the charts and reference library to get a rough idea of the period of each code I found:Case Serial code: X4..... (1991)Clasp Code: R11 (Nov 1993)GMT Manual: Jan 1992Your Rolex Oyster: Jan 1992Red Chrono Tag: Single crown hologram (90s - early 2000)Box code: 68.00.55 (90s)Calendar Card 1: 1994-1995Calendar Card 2: 1995-1996Dial: SWISS-T<25Originally I thought the Calendar cards were given out at services but I just learnt that they are part of the set the AD assembled during the purchase.l - but why 2? The dates of the booklets are 2 years earlier than the calendar cards, is that normal? The clasp is 2 years younger than the watch, but taking
Gift equality for my parents
My dad is 71 and has a very slow growth cancer. I would love to gift him a Rolex for him to enjoy his last few years. My dad hasn't really been into watches or much of anything as he usually just sacrificed for his family and put his desires aside. It would be a stretch to make this gift possible financially but certainly doable. My question is what to do for my mom? Is it necessary to provide a gift of similar value for her. Do you think she would be offended if I gave a gift of significant value to him and not her. I'm not sure I can swing two gifts in this price range. I would love to hear from others that have wrestled with this dilemma and how it turned out.
How many of y'all have a 14060M as a daily wearer?
I've been looking for something to purchase as an heirloom piece, something to wear everyday and pass down to my son in 25 years or so. After endless research and trying on many watches, I think I've settled on a 14060M 4-liner. No offense to anyone that owns a 114060, my personal preference is just for the look and feel of the 14060M.With that said, how many of y'all wear a 14060M as your daily? Any reason this watch shouldn't last a lifetime and then some (assuming regular servicing and maintenance)?
