Cable Meets Cobra: David Yurman’s New Shelby 1000 Sports Watch
Watch-and-jewelry designer David Yurman, famous for his signature cable bracelet, has teamed up with muscle-car?visionary Carroll Shelby, creator of the legendary Shelby Cobra, to create Yurman’s first limited-edition sports watch, the David Yurman Revolution Shelby 1000.The Shelby watch, which is available in two case versions one in stainless steel and one “all-black” model with black PVD ? is the centerpiece of David Yurman’s recently introduced family of sports watches, called Revolution. It celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Shelby American brand, founded by Carroll Shelby, which produced the Cobra and other high-performance sports cars that tore up the worldwide auto racing circuit in the 1960s and early 1970s. The release of the watch coincides with the introduction of the new Shelby 1000 Mustang, described by the company as its most powerful car to date. Quartz Royal Oak Battery Change
My wife has a 33mm RO Quartz and the battery is now dead. I need some advice on how to go about getting a new battery. The forum here says:10. Stay away from a RO Quartz as changing the battery is something that needs to be done every 2-3 years. To change the battery you need to disassemble the whole watch. Remove the bezel, dial, hands, crown, etc. to access the movement and then replace the battery. If done by an independent there are a ton of things that can go wrong. Then again you will need to have AP do it and it gets really pricey even when it's just a battery change as they will still force you to do a periodic service.I would prefer not to send it in to Clearwater and skip the periodic service, is this something that my AP AD can do?thanks
Show Me Your APs in the Snow!!!!
Here's my 15300 yesterday afternoon!
Considering joining the AP club.....
I've been eyeing all of the great discussion and fantastic watches on this AP forum, and I'm ready to take the plunge. Thinking about a Rose Gold version, and the RO Chronograph 41 mm, with the all black dial, has caught my attention. Anyone on the forum have this model? Was originally thinking of going with a white dial, but when I saw the black dial in the AP boutique, it looked very sharp. Couple of concerns though. Thinking that the all black dial maybe does not fully showcase the great detail on the face. Also, will the gold bezel easily scratch. I plan on wearing this watch as much as possible, so obviously want to make the right choice. Any of your thoughts on this model or any other Rose Gold that you would recommend, would be much appreciated.
Reaction to Rolexes
I am new to the hobby, but currently own 2 watches, a 116610LN and a Breitling Navitimer 01. Not that I care or am even concerned with the perceptions or opinions of others, but I find it funny that 90% of people won't comment or notice the Rolex, but a good portion notice the Breitling and comment on it being a nice watch and if I tell them what it is, they typically have never heard of Breitling. On the other hand, the watch no one notices, they typically only notice when they see the Rolex at the top. Just an observation I found amusing somewhat.
