AP RO strap conversion question
So I've read thru a number of threads about adding a strap to your RO and the options. Here's what I've done and my questions.I have the RO Day and Date, which I love by the way! Bought the conversion kit from APBands along with a black strap. The plots took a lot of coercion to get in and that made me quite nervous but worked in the end. The strap I received looks great from a distance but the quality is not what I'd like. Also, the deployant buckle doesn't really work, doesn't match the watch closely, etc. Net - I want something more fitting for the watch.I spoke to the AP boutique in NYC and they can sell me the following:- black alligator strap w/ white stitch (spc order) 26.5 / 18 (I believe these are the rt dimensions per another thread)- SS deployant buckle They have told me they do NOT sell plots for the RO, presumably b/c they come with the watches that OEM straps are made for (precious metals). Seamaster mod ref 166.073 120m dial
Very often I come across the Seamaster 120m model reference 166.073, with a deep-blue dial. However, a friend of mine informed me, the same model reference comes in black dial, too. Is this true?

Black concentric OP 36 at AD - is this a decent deal?
I wandered into an AD last night, and they had a new OP 36 with the discontinued black concentric dial. This has always been my favorite OP dial. They offered to sell it to me for $4900 (about 9% off MSRP). I'm not sure if this is a decent deal, or it's totally out of line for a discontinued dial? I also want to make sure that the dial is the only difference between this watch and the ones currently in production. Anybody have any insight? Anything else I should be wary of? Thanks in advance.
