Incoming - the force is strong in this one...
Lately, I've been having a bit of a love affair with Omega's from the '70's. In terms of design, I think it was the high-point of watchmaking and even though I didn't used to be much of an Omega fan I do think they were at the forefront back then.I recently acquired a Bienne-restored Mk II, but when a similarly gorgeous Seamaster 145.024 became available the prospect of having a matching pair from 1972, both in pristine condition, was overwhelming. To be honest, I didn't really have the funds, but I don't even have a minuscule amount of buyer's remorse. The two together are, frankly, amazing. There's been a fair amount of confusion regarding terminology surrounding this watch, but I think it's safe to say that it's the real Jedi. certainly, Chuck Maddox thought so when he wrote about it here. It's rare, and it's a fantastic addition to my existing vintage pieces.I'm on cloud nine.
The 5711 has landed
After many years lusting after it, today I picked it up. More wrist shots to come and perhaps some of my thoughts, but here we go for now...
Need Help On Used Rolex Pricing!
Hi All,I am considering buying my first sub and am specifically focused on two models.I am looking to buy used and would very much appreciate getting some thoughts about where these watches currently price in the secondary market. You guessed it - I am looking at116610 (ceramic bezel) and 16610 (aluminum bezel)I assume these are frequently transacted watches (black subs) with defined price points. Looking for both with papers and would really appreciate any color. Thanks,TIMECOP!
Triplock water resistance question.....
Hello everyone here at TRF! I had a Rolex water resistance question I wanted to get your thoughts on.I have always been believed that models with the Triplock crown system were water resistant to a minimum of 300m (i.e. submariner, SeaDweller, etc). Conversely, those with a Twinlock come with 100m water resistance (DateJust, Oyster, Milgauss, etc)Assuming that is true (and that may be an erroneous assumption on my part), why does the Yacht-Master....which has a TripLock crown come with only 100m of water resistance?Anyway, just curious. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
