Girard-Perregaux 1966 Automatic 41mm Watch Auction For Kidney Research Charity
It is indeed a small world. I'd like to share with you a charity auction featuring a Girard-Perregaux timepiece which is connected to my family (the charity not the watch). Girard-Perregaux has donated a new 1966 Automatic 41mm watch (new for 2012) that is currently being auctioned-off in support of the University Kidney Research Organization (UKRO).The UKRO was started by a close relative of mine to research diseases of the kidneys. He started the foundation while he was undergoing dialysis treatments while waiting six years for a kidney transplant. Millions of people all over the world suffer from kidney disease, the causes of which are largely unknown. UKRO is an non-profit charity which has successfully funded extremely important kidney disease research and is managed by some of the fields top nephrologists. Panda strap to bracelet change NOT possible ???
I went into my AD this aft. to swap out the strap from my Panda to an OEM bracelet for the summer. Now I have never had this bracelet on the Panda but have switched in on and off my diver several times when I had it. After waiting for 30 minutes the AD service tech comes in and to my surprise tells me that he cannot get the bracelet to attach. He removed the plots and the strap and the bracelet seems to be a perfect fit (its OEM) into the plot openings but when he goes to put the screws in they dont fit and do not seem to go all the way through to the plots in order to secure the them.Am I missing something ? Are there different screws needed for this ? Why would the bracelet easily attach to the AP diver and not a Panda....same case, same size? Please help TIA !

Hi guys,I wanted to ask the Pam experts here, what price is a good price for a 028, the 1000 limited edition from 2009?I have it in almost new condition, just minor scratches where the screwdriver touched the case to change the straps, other than that it is spotless, full set bit and papers.I am selling it and would like to sell it in less than 10 years so would really appreciate if you could tell me what would be the optimum price, for me and for the buyer?Thanks in advance :thumbs:

Can some experts discuss the 18239 with me?
Been debating buying my wife one of these. We're both pretty tall, she's about 5'10 and the 36mm size is her preference. I see these models in good condition around $10k, which looks like a fair price for a solid gold model. Can someone help me out with a background on these? How does the bracelet, clasp, movement, etc. compare to current models?For a woman looking for a 36mm watch, would this be a good choice? Any insight on this would be much appreciated.TIA!!
