Watch Insider Reviews IWC Big Pilots Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Le Petit Prince
Recently I had the opportunity to get my hands on one of the most remarkable IWC watches of the last few years, the limited “Petit Prince” edition of IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar, introduced at the 2013 Hong Kong “Watches and Wonders” fair. In this article from my blog, Watch-Insider, I provide a review and original photos. This special edition combines beauty, elegance and mechanical craftsmanship done in-house. It is packed with technical highlights, including the IWC-manufactured 51613 caliber with Pellaton automatic winding and seven-day power reserve. The latter's display in the counter at 3 o'clock is a constant reminder of the movement's high efficiency. It generates enough energy to fuel a wealth of watchmaking complications, including the perpetual calendar with its four-digit year display as well as displays for the date, day and month. All the displays are easily adjusted via the crown and advance automatically.?According to IWC, the
Girard-Perregaux Traveller Large Date, Moon Phases & GMT Watch
Let us just set one thing straight off the bat: with the?Girard-Perregaux?Traveller Large Date, Moon Phases & GMT, the brand?has not introduced three different watches. Rather, they have given a rather cumbersome name to a rather lovely timepiece that incorporates some complications C any guesses as to what they are? For sake of brevity, I may instead refer to the watch solely as the Girard-Perregaux Traveller.Obviously, there is a lot going on with the watch. Aside from the three complications (which we'll get to shortly), they have also managed to give the watch the appearance of having an open dial. By that, I mean that they have made the dial of sapphire (which appears to be tinted a bit) which allows you to see some portions of the GP03300 automatic movement inside. Through experience with other watches equipped with see-through dials, I have become a fan of this sort of open dial, as it allows some mechanical bits to be shown off on the dial side without it being a distractio
New PO 43.5mm Orange Rubber Bezel
I haven't seen much owners sharing this watch. Is it unpopular?Just wondering how does it wear? The previous models wear really tall and i couldn't handle it.Any owners her can share experiences. The titanium grey dial is looking really cool.
New to the world of Rolex
Good day everyone, My name is John, and I'm new to the forum and new to the world of Rolex. I'm 39 years old, and ever since i was a little kid I've had the itch to own a Rolex. My grandfather (before he passed) had a President, and he was responsible for giving me the itch. Fast forward several decades, and I'm finally in a position in life where i can scratch that itch. So last week i stopped by my local AD. Same place i bought my wife's engagement ring as well as my breitling. Jeff, who's one of their Rolex specialists and a stellar individual, was showing me my options. I wanted something sort of entry level, so i settled (key word there) on a rhodium-dialed Oyster Perpetual 39. I had him hold it aside for me, and that was that.Well over the course of this past week, i couldn't stop thinking about the fact that what i REALLY wanted was one of the new Datejust 41s with the new 3235 movement. It got so bad that i began to feel like i was settling for the OP39, simply because the pri
Need some help deciding...
Hi all,Thanks for chiming in. I got a call from my AD today about a piece I was kind of on the list for. It is the new moon phase Cellini. I wanted to see this piece in person and decide if I wanted to buy it or not. When I saw it in person today, I really did like the watch. It wore very comfortably. However, here is the issue. I saw an ever rose sky dweller on a strap and it caught my attention as well. When I got home I did some research and found out the sky dweller on a strap could be had for around 25k used which is roughly around the same price for a new moon phase Cellini. Which one would you guys go for? Here are some shots of the watches on my actual wrist. Added a picture of the blue dial ss sky dweller on the bracelet for another opinion! Thanks for looking!
