Diver Rubber
A week or two ago I picked up an AP Bands nice matte black crock strap for my diver. It was great and I loved the change in look, no regrets, but I just switched back to the rubber strap. Why?It is just so amazingly comfortable!! Nothing else like it. I also missed the two channel lines coming off the links at the head of the watch. Subtle, not noticeable when you are used to it, but the detail is missed when its not there. Love my diver
5167 - second hand
Whilst setting the time on my Aquanaut this morning I noticed the following:-a) The watch does not have a hacking second hand - I assume that this is standard for the majority of Pateks?b) When adjusting the time If I adjust the time anti-clockwise (I realise that in hindsight this is probably a major no no) the second hand seems to jerk a few seconds backwards and then resumes its regular movement. Are the above observations pretty standard - for a second I though that there was a problem with the hacking function?Do people have a problem calibrating their watches without such a hacking function and is there reason that Patek choose not to include this?
My Most Versatile Rolex
I usually wear my 16710 on oyster or jubilee bracelet and rotate between a Pepsi and Coke bezel. But I recently purchased a leather nato with faded black bezel and it's hard to believe it's the same watch. This watch is so versatile with its different bracelet/strap options and numerous bezel colors. No wonder the values keep on rising.
Finally purchased a Submariner 116610LN at a great price
I've been looking for a Submariner 116610LN for about a month already but all the local AD's are out of stock. Almost bought one from a seller here at TRF but hesitated because of the price being close to retail. I've been looking everywhere for a good deal, then suddenly I saw a posting on Craigslist listed for $6500, it was bought in 2017, with box, no warranty card just a photocopy of a receipt and the card from AD priced at $8750. I texted the seller and asked what his best price was, $5700 he said. I quickly left work that morning and went straight to the bank. On my way to the seller he texted me and said he just got another offer for asking price of $6500. I told him that I have cash in hand, will not resell the watch and almost there. He said he way going to honor his deal with me. So, I met the guy at his office, inspected the watch and bought it with out the warranty card. The seller said he'll contact the AD and see if they can track the original warranty card and possibly
