Glashtte Original Offers New Senator Chronometer with Dark Blue Dial
The watch world’s current “Blue Period” shows no signs of waning at this year’s Baselworld, as brands continue to roll out timepieces with azure-colored dials and straps. Among the most notable new releases is a dark blue version of Glashtte Original’s Senator Chronometer, a model launched in 2009 that has become one of the Saxon brand’s cornerstones. The Glashtte Original Senator Chronometer, inspired by vintage marine instruments used in shipboard navigation, has earned official chronometer certification and hence, its reputation for timekeeping precision and reliability from an authorized testing institute, the German Calibration Service. (Swiss-made watches, unlike German-made watches such as this one, receive chronometer certificates from another certifying agency, the Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres, or COSC.) Its dark blue dial new to this model but used in other recently released timepieces from G.O., such as the Sixties Pano
Two-Tone, Enough Said
I just love my 5402ST.
Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow Question
I just recently acquired a Speedmaster Broad Arrow with I believe the 3303 movement. It keeps more accurate time than my Sub Date and the power reserve seems ok. The thing is, if you hold it to your ear and shake it gently you can hear something spinning and buzzing around inside the watch, and can actually feel a mild vibration through your finger tips. When you manually wind the watch you don't get that smooth ratcheting feeling you get with a Rolex. Is this normal?
Advice on Adding a Chrono
I'm looking to add a chrono and would like some advice from the experts. The Black Bay Chrono recently caught my eye. I like the way it looks, and I am very intrigued by the movement and high water resistance. It doesn't seem to get much love though. I've read that a few people don't like the hands but that doesn't bother me. I like the idea of adding a Tudor too. Also looking at the Heuer Autavia. Again, I like the looks and movement but this seems to be even less regarded than the BB. A speedy is also an option and likely the FIOS over the moonwatch. I don't really care for the Daytonas or the El Primeros. Anything else I should be looking at?A little more info. Looking for something that works nicely with a strap, and 42 mm would be the biggest I want to go. My daily wearer is a PO 2201.50 so this would be in rotation with that one. Thanks!
