Introducing The Modillian Bluetooth Smart Watch Strap Buckle
The Modillian is the first "smart strap" for watches and aims to bridge the gap between traditional timepieces and the emerging smartwatch industry. If you've been following watches-dealer's coverage of smartwatches, then you know we typically bring up a very important question. That being, at what point we will see a smartwatch so appealing that it forces us to take off our high-end mechanical watches and put on what is essentially a wearable communication gadget? With the Modillian, many people will perhaps get to enjoy both. What is the Modillian? Essentially it is a replacement ardillon buckle (the term for the basic pin and loop style buckle most watch straps have) for watch straps that has a Bluetooth connection and vibrates in order to alert the wearer to notification such as incoming calls, missed calls, and new messages. You're Invited: A Special Preview Of 'The Luxury Of Time: European Clocks And Watches' Exhibition At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art
It gives us great pleasure to say that we are able to offer, courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a limited number of invitations to an upcoming exhibition showcasing some of the most unusual, valuable, and remarkably beautiful timepieces ever made. "The Luxury of Time: European Clocks and Watches" preview will be held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this Thursday, November 19th at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of amazing, very rare and extremely historically important clocks and watches on hand, and the exhibition is being co-curated by the Met's Mrs. Clare Vincent, a 40-year veteran of the Met, and Associate Research Curator Ms. Elizabeth Sullivan. These are just a few examples of the treasures from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection. Above is a stunning clockwork celestial globe, made in Vienna in around 1579; like many of the clocks and watches in the exhibition this was a gift from J. Pierpont Morgan (in this case the gift was given in 1917).
Anyone know Hamilton Jewelers in Red Bank NJ?
Looking to see some APs in person. Found Hamilton Jewelers in Red Bank NJ. The carry some very good brands like PP, ALS, AP, etc. also have a nice used inventory on there website. No deals though. I might get up there in a week or so to try the ROO chrono panda on (and some ALS and PPs). If anyone has experience with them let me know.
Breitling Superocean 44mm.
Picture taken from google. As said, what are your thoughts regarding this model? I particularly liked the one with blue seconds hand. It's quite big, I think as large as a DSSD, but slightly thinner. Will it be an iconic watch? Will it bore me? Will it hold value if I decided to sell it?Any thoughts welcome! :)
