Picked up a nice two tone Royal oak, absolutely loving it. Just wished I could take a decent close up with my Nikon Got quoted 150 for a service from a local independent Watchmaker, can i trust him to deal with an AP? *amended
The Patek Philippe Nautilus Chrono
The Nautilus is a watch which I will buy one day. Years ago I tried the Aquanaut, I liked it but it didn't take long before I got tired of it, so I sold it. The Nautilus on the other hand ... The 5711 is nice but nut for me, a bit too simple Than we have the 5712. I like it a lot more than the 5711. The extra complications are welcome. But I'm affraid I would not like the size. It's imo too flat. A Nautilus is still a sportswatch and for me a sportswatch needs to be bigger, thicker and heavier than a dresswatch. That leaves the 5980. A friend of mine has one and I'm wearing it for a few weeks. It has everything I want from a Patek. An extremely well finished case, bracelet, movement (this is ofcourse also a fact for the 5711 and 5712). When I put it on my wrist it just feels great. Much better than any 5711, 5712 and 3712 I ever tried. I don't have a small wrist so the bigger Nautilus is superb for me. The only bad thing I can think about is the price. Compared with other fantastic spo
16710 Prices
Hi All, I got a 2004 16710 pepsi with the full works about 2 years ago and got it serviced by Rolex UK, in total about ?3500 including the service (Yes I know they were just over ?2200 new!). My question is about values - around the time I got mine, dealers were asking ?5000 then over a few months that increased to around ?6000. It seems crazy money - and now seems to have settled at about that level. What are peoples thoughts on why, and what may happen next? It's not like it was just discontinued a year or two ago!
Dream profession and a Rolex
Every young soul has a dream profession that sooner or later we have to part ways due to various life reasons, other have the privilege to live the ultimate dream. Just wanted to make a different thread where we can just share these Ultimate dream professions and which Rolex would you be using for that profession. As of today, I am an Architect and Entrepreneur and I love what I do everyday, but my dream profession would be traveling the world as a National Geographic photographer and my watch would be an Explorer 1. I love the simplicity and the versatility of the Explorer, good for climbing mountains, exploring cities and moving around, rugged and unbreakable, but also seeking for no attention.Would love to hear your stories.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
