Let's talk Volcano
This is a model, in the AP line that is something of a love/hate model isn't it?Friends of mine seem to love it or hate it. I love the model, but since it is a model evoking strong emotions on both side of the +/- spectrum, I'm a bit afraid to take the plunge on one...Orange. It's a strong color no doubt. I've always liked the color orange, as do I like the color yellow. The brighter the better! Like on the FC Diver. Having a splash of color in you live is usually a good thing. Is the Volcano a slow seller? I'm getting a hint it may just be. And down the line if I regret it, it could be another expensive lesson! I guess some of my worries are ultimately down to, will I keep it.... Probably not forever, but I'm a bit afraid it may be a too in your face as something of a daily watch. I try and give equal wrist time to my watches, and right now I feel I'm at that point. No longer like when I still had the AP ROC in white gold that I sometimes didn't wear for months! 9300 crazy
it started a couple months ago, when I snagged one of the new 46mm beastly Planet Ocean Chronos. Sized the watch, put it on. Everything seemed in place - large yet comfortable, functional and well-placed (read: beautiful). The dual hands on the chrono subdial at 3 topped it off. Could this be a keeper for a watch whore like me? Who knows.Couple weeks later, I received a small package of goods including few of the new Speedies with the same 9300 movement. The case looked familiar yet... different, nicer. Larger than the original, sure, but again - very comfortable. And truth be told, I prefer the dual subdial layout to the original, it is much more balanced and the date does not look like it is crammed in there. Plus oversized and raised crystal on the back, showing even more of that magnificent engine. PP 5296G-001 vs. Lange 1815 Up/Down
hey everyone, i've recently started looking for a watch that falls in between the pure dress and pure sports watch categories...preferably in a light colored dial given the other pieces in my collection. I have the following two pieces on order from my AD to try out, and was hoping to get your feedback before they come in. Obviously its a question of personal taste and how they will ultimately fit and feel on my wrist, but wanted to get some opinions. I've narrowed it down to the Patek 5296G-001 and the Lange 1815 Up/Down, which also happen to be similarly priced. Other suggestions would be appreciated.

My first change in the lineup in two years.....Explorer II polar out....DJ41 in.I'm very happy with my new purchase. Supremely comfortable, beautifully balanced, and slightly more dressy than my other watches.
