New AP ROO Owner - Some Questions
Bought my first AP from SohAIS AIS Watches and am excited to get it tomorrow - Aamir has been great to work with! It's the ROO 25940SK.OO.D002CA.03 Black Dial. Quick questions for everyone:What watch winder do you recommend for the watch and the appropriate settings?Would you only get the watch serviced at the AP Boutique (I'm in NYC so lots of options)? What's the best way to clean the rubber band and also rubber bezel? The band is relatively cheap ($300) but not sure if AP replaces the bezel as well when serviced.Last question, promise - to ensure the watch is water proof and keeping accurate time do you recommend taking it to AP or a place such as Tourneau. AP said they'd need to send it out and it could take a few weeks.Best,Scott
Boutiques vs. ADs
Hi,Forgive me but I don't understand something. Hoping you all can clarify?I was always under the impression that an AD is something like Tourneau or Mayors Jewelers (both of which I have visited locations of.) Several brands such as Rolex, Panerai, IWC, Chopard, Breitling, Tudor, etc under one roof. With a boutique being set up BY the brand to sell only that particular brand?!For instance - AP in NYC on 57th, and the Bal Harbour MIA location. Now, I've been to both and KNOW for a fact that ONLY AP is sold in these boutiques.^^ Those ARE AP boutiques, correct? And, is that logic correct??With that said, and with talk on here of moving toward boutiques and away from ADs - what will happen to stores such as these - of which, again, I have visited every single one in person and KNOW they sell multiple brands in the one store??Swiss Fine Timing - Magnificent Mile, ChicagoExquisite Timepieces - Naples FLHing Wa Lee - Walnut CAWestime - Beverly Hills CAWestime - La Jolla (San Diego) CAThey may
RO and cufflinks
Hi,Just wondering if anyone wears their RO/ROC with cufflinks? I have found that cufflinks caused quite a few hairline scratches on the bezel of my PAM around the 12 o'clock area, but as the PAM bezel is relatively simple to polish and the hairlines are not too noticeable I'm not too concerned. However, with the ROC I just got and the fine brushed finishing on the bezel, I'm really concerned about getting hairline scratches on it which I think will also be much more noticeable. So just wondering if others wear cufflinks with their RO without issue, or do you avoid cufflinks with the RO?On a side note, really like these cufflinks I got not too long ago :)Cheers,James
Picked Up A Globemaster
This was very spontaneous. I just went in to say hello and see the new PO's, which are sadly just too big a bulky imho. They are beautiful, for sure. But not what I personally look for anymore. I miss the old 2500 models. Anyway, I had tried on the sample Globemaster annual calendar during an Omega event and loved the feel. I was a little put off by the price and the month with no day. It just seemed weird. Anyway, fast forward to yesterday and I saw this for the first time and fell in love. It's super comfortable. Excellently proportioned. Has a vintage style, but a completely modern feel. I tend to shy away from butterfly clasps, but this bracelet and clasp are very comfortable. It also has great lume and a 10 BAR rating. This one was a, had to have.
Patek or no which one?Help please
