Omega Crawl With watches-dealer Was Fun With Watches Across Time
A few days before Christmas 2014, watches-dealer invited a group of Los Angeles watch lovers to visit the Beverly Center Omega watch boutique and then to Jackmond, a special store in Los Angeles started by Jack Khorsandi and dedicated to displaying, servicing, collecting, buying, and selling vintage Omega timepieces. Then, after some deep watch appreciation, whiskey (thanks to Jack), and lots of conversation, we headed nearby for a private dinner. One of the most interesting things we saw at the Omega boutique was an early presentation of their new "antimagnetic test." With the debut and increasing proliferation of Master Co-Axial with its anti-magnetic movement, Omega realizes that many of its customers aren't quite sure why magnetism is so harmful to mechanical watch movements, and just how easily even the smallest magnets can effect a mechanical watch movement. The test showed how small, common everyday magnets could not only stop a traditional watch, but permanently (and dramaticall
Which Strap Goes Well With the Safari?
The Safari is sick, so I've sent her to the AP boutique in Jeddah for some TLC. So far I'm very pleased with the special care they have given me. Ahmed (the Manager) took the time to explain to me the whole process. Apparently the piece may have to be sent to Switzerland. It may take up to 4 months before she comes home. Everything is covered under warranty..Now I'm thinking of getting an extra bracelet or strap when she comes back. I've seen some pictures of the Safari on bracelet but I would love to see if the Safari also goes well with the rubber strap. Can anyone share some pictures of their Safari on rubber strap here?Much appreciated...

5712 vs 5726 water rating?
Anyone know why the 5712 is only 60m waterproof instead of 120m, which according to its own manual is due to the two pushers for the moon phase and date corrections. But the 5726 is rated to 120m even though it has four pushers to correct the day, month, date and moon phase?Does this have something to do with the 240 movement in disguise? Other than that, it makes no sense.Anyone have any thoughts on this? I believe the 5712 is the only Nautilus rated below 120m. I also think it is the only Nautilus with a 240 movement. Even the Aquanaut 5164 has a 120m rating even with a corrector pusher for the date and the two large pushers for the time function. Weird.Any thoughts?
