Another Baselworld has come and gone, and while we will be seeing many new timepieces introduced there make their way to retailers’ cases in coming months, it will be another year before we again see the new, larger Baselworld complex and the numerous redesigned booths. From Bell & Ross to Timex: The Heritage Military Watch
There have been a slew of vintage military style watches hitting the market recently, featuring a black face, beige symbols and a tan or brown leather band.? It's a compelling look that harkens to a timeless 1940's military aesthetic, and it seems like everyone's getting in on the action.? Here's a roundup of a few of these watches at various price points that you can pick up (or just admire from afar) today.Bell & Ross was one of the first, if not the first company to introduce the vintage military look into their lineup with the BR Heritage series.? Originally introduced in Spring 2009 with the BR 01-92 Heritage, the line now features several wathes, including the most recently released BR 123 and 126 Heritage.? 116618LB but at what cost?
I've been wanting a 116618LB, ideally mint from 2015-2017 for low/mid 20s. A trusted grey dealer here in Boston says he can get me a new one for 28.5k, which is more than I'd want to pay for new. 27.4 would be 20% off msrp and more palatable, even if a few thousand more than a mint recent used one that I'm primarily looking for. Question is, do you think that's worth it at 28+? For me I think it's more the principle of the thing than the actual 1k difference off what I think would be fair for new. Should I stick to my guns and keep looking, or just go for it? A big consideration for myself is that I only pay cash and thus need to buy in person, ideally locally.
