Greubel Forsey & Philippe Dufour Present Le Garde Temps Naissance dUne Montre Project
The centuries-old traditions and?know-how in?horology, as awe-inspiring, interesting, and technically unique as they may be, are feared to be soon forgotten, as?the newer generation C the much needed "fresh blood" C is hardly motivated to consider taking the long road that leads to them understanding, practicing, and hence, preserving these?invaluable assets. It is with this reason in mind that Greubel Forsey and Philippe Dufour conceived the?Le Garde Temps Naissance d'Une Montre project that was officially launched in 2012?C?the fruit of an "obsessional desire to research, record, and transmit the techniques involved in traditional handmade watchmaking."Images courtesy of Le Garde TempsWe may as well stop right here for a moment. Stephen Forsey, Robert Greubel, and Philippe Dufour: these three watchmakers surely need no introduction to most hardcore watch enthusiasts out there. The?former two are primarily known for their unique, highly complicated and exceptionally finished creations
An Interesting AP Goodie
I received this at the opening reception of the AP Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Singapore Exhibition. This is a surprise gift, to me at least, and all I can say is that it is the most interesting and almost deceiving memorabilia that I totally enjoy.Make a guess on what it is? (Those who have seen or received it, please keep mum for the moment ok? :)HAGWE!Wayne
'64 Omega is rattling..what could this be?
Decided to wear my Omega cal 600 from '64 today since I haven't worn it in about 6 months. While holding it, I couldn't help but notice that it was making this audible, and quite loud(to me, at least) rattling sound. It was like a ting ting ting sound from the balance wheel that would go on and on, stop, and then start again. The watch has done this for a while even before today. ironic thing is, I had it serviced(I use that term loosely) in NYC in November of 2015. it had this sound before service and ever since i picked it back up. Obviously the service wasn't really done correctly, right? Whats causing this?
New to me 3992J
HelloI received my first Patek today from an estate Through a reputable watch dealer Brick & Mortar store...it's a 3992J with the 240 movement. The watch is beautiful and in mint condition my concern is that i can hear that rotor turning its kind of loud. My first Patek and by no means not my first Automatic... is this normal?Best: Marko
