Carl F. Bucherer has opened a new boutique in the Zurich, Switzerland airport. The boutique is the first of its kind, offering Carl F. Bucherer timepieces and jewelry, and an extensive collection of Rolex watches. This marks the first time the two Swiss brands have come together to collectively showcase some of their finest and most creative designs. Carl F. Bucherer and Rolex watches will be displayed in their respective Shop-in-Shop concepts, using their corporate architecture. Carl F. Bucherer believes that exposure in a location that is heavily trafficked by international travelers will boost brand awareness around the globe. The store is located on level 1 of Zurich Airport's Airside Center.
Original Rolex Milgauss Tops $110,000 At Auction
An original Rolex Milgauss Ref. 6541 produced in 1958 brought more than $113,000, including buyer’s premium, at today’s Bonhams auction of fine wristwatches in London. The watch, Lot 139, was originally sold by Watches of Switzerland in New Bond Street in 1962. Characterized by the “lightening strike” center seconds hand, the Milgauss was designed for use in areas subjected to high levels of electro-magnetic radiation. This example has a black honeycomb dial, “Milgauss” printed in red, a caliber 1066M movement, and a 35mm case.
Seamaster PO Fit Question
Hey folks,I headed to my local AD today to check out a few OMEGA models. The Seasmaster PO is quite a substantial timepiece. I'm a little concerned that it may not fit nicely inside a dress shirt cuff. Has anyone else had this problem with the watch? I realize I could move the buttons on my shirts - but that is a pain in the butt. This watch will be a daily wear piece, I do not intend to rotate it. I would like it to work with my daily dress apparel.I think I have spent too much time on this site. I was convinced I would purchase a Submariner until I started viewing this section and looking at the Seamaster pics. It's a beauty. Now my decision is clouded. lol. Thanks for your help.
Last Sunday I went to Belgium...
....and picked up a few of my vintage Omega's.My watchmaker did a overhaul on them.I picked up 5 but I have only pictures of two of them, rest will follow soon..First this one, bought it on Ebay for only a few $$, worth a try I thought...When the postman brought it it was horrible, the case was very dirty and the movement made a terrible noise..But then again, what can you expect for only $30,-....After my watchmaker was done with it it looked like this...Needless to tell you all that I am VERY happy with the result. The second one was the Omega that I gave to my mom about a year ago. After a complete service it's ready for years of duty..Gave it back to her last evening, she was so thrilled she had tears in her eyes..Like I promised, the rest will follow soon..
HELP! Purchasing my first Rolex
Hi all Rolex aficionados! I am quite a newbie in this forum - a newbie to Rolex really. I have always wanted one. I could never pull the trigger - until now. I have come into good stride in my career and I thought what better way to mark this than buy the long coveted dream watch!I am a lady and my choice is the 31mm with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. After that, I am stuck . I cannot for the life of me, decide on the dial. After trying on different dials in AD, I may have narrowed it down to:1. SS with bronze dial with diamond on VI (technically, this is actually two-tone as the bezel is white gold, but for this purpose, I just put SS)2. Two-tone Everose gold in sundust/pale pink dial with diamond markersI suppose my question is - what would you go for - SS or TT? Plus what do you think of the everose? It's really pretty, but someone commented to me that it is on the way out as YG is coming back ? Your thoughts much appreciated!
