New Watch: Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve
Vacheron Constantin's Collection Excellence Platine welcomes a new model for those who appreciate classically understated timepieces. The limited edition Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve embodies the finest horological traditions in every sense.Vacheron Constantin created its first platinum timepiece in 1820, and has since fashioned its finest timepieces from this precious metal, which is 95% pure, compared with 75% purity for 18k gold.As a new member of the Collection Excellence Platine, the Traditionnelle Day-Date and Power Reserve offers much more than simply a platinum case. The dial too is crafted from the precious metal, as evidenced by the discreet PT950 inscription between 4 and 5 o'clock. The dial provides a central display of the hours, minutes and seconds, as well as pointer-type indications of the power reserve, the date and the day of the week. The dark blue alligator strap is hand-sewn with a unique thread made from silk combined with a fine strand of 950 platin
Benrus Type I and Type II MIL-W-50717 Military Dive Watches
When I think about all the things a military issued watch should be (robust, legible, functional), no watch comes as close to perfection as the 1970s Benrus dive watch.? Its super-solid case, highly-readable dial, and simple but functional features make it a real classic among military and dive watches.? Today we'll take a look at what makes these watches so special. In the early 1970s, while the British were issuing their now-famous, essentially off-the-shelf Swiss military dive watches, American forces wrote MIL-W-50717, a military specification that outlined all the design details they were looking for in a diving watch. Benrus, who had been producing field watches for the US military since the early 1960s, answered the mail with the watches you see here. These watches had everything divers and other combat units needed and nothing they didn't. The thick steel one-piece cases measured in at 43 mm wide and 16mm tall, and made the watches impervious to disruption from the bangs and bump
ROO SS 44 measurements?
HiI'm currently considering buying a 44mm SS ROO. (My first AP ) I don't live anywhere near an AD, but tried on the 44mm ROO in forged carbon 2-3 years ago whilst on holiday in Miami. Not remembering how it looked on my wrist (my wrist is 6.75 inches and fairly flat) I was wondering if someone could help me out with measurements in mm from the picture I've attached? This way at least I can compare it to my other watches - Rolex, B&R.

Nauti by Nature - part 2
With all the craziness of 5711 and 5712. I think we should look at the nautilus again as a series. Each model offers something different that makes it a nice collection. Agree?BTW, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! Wish you all the best and good health!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
