Omega and Phelps Redux
Here's an article from the NY Times questioning whether there is a conflict of interest in Omega's sponsoring Phelps and timing his results, particularly in light of his split second victory in the 100 meter butterfly. What's interesting, though, is that the reporter seems to be the one courting the controversy. All of the quotes suggesting there may be a conflict of interest seem to arise from questions or emails from the reporter. Anyway I thought it was an interesting follow-up to the more laudatory article I posted earlier. Yet another 5711 quandary
So I was offered a 5711 about a year ago from my 'go to' AD. I think I have paid for multiple Ivy League university degrees for his kids. I have worn it less than 20 days. I know how hot they are and I do like it I just never wear it. Not looking to sell it, well not really. I have a 5726 strap and 5712 and a 5711P. Those first two seem to get my Nautilus wrist time, the P is in hibernation. All four are dark dials. I have a chance as a reward (nice to have 14 Patek) to pick up a 5711 white dial. I am seriously considering it. Nautilus are hot right now and I have no fear of the bottom falling out of them. I have yet to see a white in person. I have a few days until it arrives. If they ever stop the 5711 production, the the white started the end of 2012 they will be far fewer. Maybe a good thing. For those who have the white dial, do any of you also have the blue? If so, what gets worn more? The 5711 is still an inexpensive (relative term) watch. I see no reason not to have it. I s
