Dealer Cost?
Anyone know where to find what dealer cost is on a new AP? I'm looking at the Rose Gold Royal Oak Jumbo Ultra Thin ref: 15202OR.OO.1240OR.01I believe it retails for USD $50,800.00Would love dealer cost in EU and US if it's possible to obtain this info, as I travel quite a bit.I appreciate the help! Thanks,Mike.
The Railmaster's great, maybe an 8500 next . . .
I'm really loving my 36mm Railmaster. So much, if fact, that I'm wondering if I should start thinking about one of those lovely 38.5mm ATs with the 8500 movement and teck dials. I've seen some nice photos of the Teck Grey dial, does anyone have some of the one in Teck Opaline Silver? I'm telling you, this is just crazy . . . now I'm looking at Rolex and Omega watches.
Changing Strap/Bracelet
Do you need a special tool to change the bracelet/strap on a Seamaster Professional? Or would a small screwdriver work to spring the post that holds the bracelet/strap in place?I had my bracelet switched to a rubber strap by a local watchmaker. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth between the strap and the bracelet but don't want to take it to the watchmaker regularly. Thanks, James
AD visit--5711/1R
Stopped by my AD here in HK and was surprised to see stock of the 5711/1R. They also had a 5980/1R, as well. There is a waitlist for most popular pieces since the price drop so I thought it quite unusual to see the 5711/1R in particular.Thoughts: I was expecting the 5711/1R to be much heavier but it was perfectly balanced. Makes me want the P version even more The dial seemed a bit off to me--I really prefer the dial color on the 5980/1R in combination with an R version or maybe even a blue. Not a buyer but I thought I'd share some pics. And of course, the 5980/1R is simply amazing--a grail of mine. PM me if your interested and I'll let you know where. For reference, after the std 10% discount in HK, the prices are:5711/1R = 343,710 HKD = approx. $44,350 USD5980/1R = 572,940 HD = approx. $73,930 USD
Should I buy now or later?
Hi, I am new to this forum, and I hope to slowly learn more about Rolex from you.I am thinking of buying a Datejust 6917 from a reputable store that specializes in selling used watches for my wife as our fifth wedding anniversary present. The reason why I am thinking about this is because Rolex seems to be her dream watch, and this model looks like something that she likes and the price is much more within my budget compare to most other models. The catch is that my fifth wedding anniversary is still 1.5 years away. I originally think that I should try to save up as much I could during this time before making the purchase. But would you recommend me to try to make the purchase ASAP in case the price of the watch will go up if I wait for another year? Also, I understand the longer I wait, the higher will there be a chance where that models will be sold out in the shop.Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
