MB&F HM6 RT Watch In Red Gold
Recently, the Red Dot Design Awards for 2015 were held in Germany - and one of the big winners in the watch category was the MB&F HM6. MB&F was the only mechanical watch to earn a coveted Red Dot: Best of the Best award (the Apple Watch also won, but of course, it is not mechanical). In honor of that award, MB&F is releasing the second version of the HM6 known as the MB&F HM6 RT - which replaces the titanium case of the original MB&F Horological Machine No. 6 with one in 18k red gold. Not just any red gold, but one with palladium in it which stabilizes the copper. They call this alloy 5N+ (5N is the term for 18k red gold). What does that mean? It is basically the same concept as Rolex's Everose gold or Omega's Sedna rose gold. That means that over time, the copper is not as prone to wearing out causing the gold to turn more yellow, versus staying red gold. We have spoken at length about the MB&F HM6 watch when debuting it here. I encourage anyone to visit the p
Need some input with my collection
Looking to switch up my collections a little bit and wanted to get some feedback. So I have a few options I have been running in my head.Current collection is AP RO RG silver dial on leather strap, Rolex GMT TT, couple vintage pieces (one VC one Rolex) and a couple Carl F Bucherer that I wear for beaters and under the radar.I am looking to add a rubber band watch, leaning toward AP Diver black dial or VC Chrono black or blue dial with blue rubber, old version. Also looking to move the GMT to a SS Rolex. If I don't go blue dial VC would be looking to add blue dial, something like the Rolex Day Just II WG bezel.I do not want a Rolex Daytona, some reason they just don't sing to me like some of the other pieces. So break down of options and what my lineup would look like.AP RO, GMT TT, VC Chrono blue dialAP RO, GMT TT, AP DiverAP RO, Day Just II blue dial, AP DiverAP RO, Day just II blue dial, VC Chrono black dialAP RO, GMT SS, VC Chrono blue dialAP RO and other options.Couple things to
Anyone Disappointed by Nesbit's
Hello all. New member here.Has anyone been disappointed by Nesbit's in Seattle?I just received my SMP back from service and was a little disappointed by the refinishing. I know there's controversy over refinishing. To polish or not to polish, that is the question. I'm not talking about a vintage sword hand 300. This is a 2220.80 Co-Axial SMP.I live in the NE area and after reading several posts on different sites about the terrible service from Omega in NJ, and reading many good things about Nesbit's in WA, I decided to ship my SMP across the country.I cannot say enough about the customer service. Jan is wonderful! She took the time answers all of my emails and questions.I purchased the timepiece second hand and although it had a pedigree I questioned the authenticity of the date wheel. Nesbit's authenticated the date wheel, and they still replaced it at no additional cost. That my friends is customer service!Herein lies my issue. The refinishing or lack thereof was quite disappointing
new one on the viewfinder......
don't know if I'm kidding myself, but i think i may be done for a while with this next watch....currently i my collection consists of rolex gmt master 16753, yacht master tt blue dial, hulk, mil gauss gv, speedy pro 3570.5, ploprof 1200 and yesterday i tried on a planet ocean chronometer orange bezel ss bracelet and i love that watch....to me, right now, the poc looks so cool as i love the size of it...and the dssd just looks like a black sub with water retention in comparison.....then to round out the collection i think a marathon and an aqua dive but we'll see......
How does 5167 look on a larger wrist...7 3/4"?
I had the next watch purchase narrowed to an AP ROO Black Theme or a Patek Philippe 5167A-001. Thanks to all of the PP enablers' pics, I'm 99% certain that 5167 is the right choice. Unfortunately, my AD doesn't have any 5167s in stock to try on. I do have a slightly larger 7 3/4 wrist. Anyone with similar size wrist that can share your experience and wrist shot pics?Thank you.
